    Best Area For Snorkeling

Do you have to have a special license to be able to go diving? Friends of mine were taking classes for it. They wanted to take diving trips, and I didn't know if they had to do that, or if they just wanted to.

    Camel Safari -- Bikaner

I sort of took it as a matter of fact that there were camel safaris in India. Wherever there are deserts, there are camels, right?

    Advantages Of Travelling Alone

I agree on being able to save more money whenever I travel alone. I like to be able to buy food and prepare it myself, yet others that I travel with perefer to dine out.

    Backpack Or Suitcase?

How about packing your backpack into your suitcase? Then you can have both and decide later. Or, what about using a backpack for your carry-on luggage?

    Kumbh Mela In The Ganges?

Can anyone tell me a little more about the Kumbh Mela ritual that draws in so many thousands of people? It is supposed to be a religious ceremony, which many people attend, along the Ganges river.

    Eels

I believe there are eels everywhere, however, there are usually one sort or another that frequent certain areas. It's always good to know before going in. I agree - checking with the natives about any possible dangers of the local waters is a good idea.

    Trek for beginners in Himalayas

You should, by all means, do as much as you can while you are still young. When you get older, you will only regret all of the things you could have done but didn't.

Wow. I wish I had seen this earlier. Hope you had a good trip. I had some availability over the Christmas holidays and could have probably arranged to go with you. Well, maybe next time.

    Conflicts With India?

Is there anything one should know about when traveling from India to Pakistan? There has been a history of conflict between the two. I can't see how it would affect a tourist, however, there may be some animosity and things one needs to avoid that may be helpful to know.

    Must Eat Places In Delhi

A lot of the food mentioned above sounds like food you can get worldwide. I prefer to eat more traditional stuff when I travel. And fried ice cream is delicious! However, I prefer it "Mexican-style". It is made with a burrito and has cinammon-sugar sprinkled all over it. Yummy!

    Trouble With The Language...

Not necessarily. I have some German friends who travel worldwide, who don't speak English. I've asked them if they have trouble getting by, and they say, "Not at all!". So, some things are just universal, and you can pretty much communicate your intentions without words.

How to book a safari in Jim Corbett

What and where is Jim Corbett? From the posts, I'm guessing it is some kind of a wildlife park. Who was Jim Corbett, and why would he have a park named after him?

    Eels

I have heard you have to watch out for lots of eels whenever you swim in Indian waters. Does anyone know if they are of the dangerous type, or is it just that there are a lot of eels, in general? Or does it only apply to certain parts of the country?

    Best And Worst Travel Partners?

I don't like sharing rooms with sloppy people. I'm a bit of a neat freak, so I sort of get a bit bent out of shape when I'm dealing with untidy people.

    Trek for beginners in Himalayas

I don't know if I would want to be a 'beginner' in the Himalayas. Although that may be a dream for some, I believe that one takes some advanced skills that I'm not sure I'm capable of.
