    To be honest as this is your first time in Mumbai I would strongly suggest that you get a prebooked taxi which would pick you up from the airport and drop you of at your desired destination. Your going to have luggage with you as well so getting onto buses and trains would be a hassle.

    Rs3000 is not really a budget hotel, a budget hotel would be priced at something like Rs1500 which s half of the cost which you have given. Back to your query a hotel for Rs3000 there are many, Hotel Imperial Lake View for Rs3800, Hotel Dandoo Palace for Rs3000 and Hotel Duke for Rs3500.

    Holiday destination for end of August

    You can go Rajasthan for a trip, by the end of August the weather would be good and even if it does rain it would be safe for driving.

    Booking a taxi in Bhutan works out to be very costly, so instead of this you should hire a car for your trip and go see places your self. You can also get a shared cab which also works out to be cost effective. As an idea of costs a cab can cost anything from Rs2500 per day.
