Now let's talk about Alamparai Fort. Well, this fort is located near a village 50km away from Mamallapuram. The fort is not as well known to many as it should be, it even got mentioned as one of the lesser known tourist attractions in Tamil Nadu in the International Tourism Fair held in Berlin. The fort was constructed during the Mughal times between the years 1736 CE to 1740 CE and was used as a seaport. So you can imagine how old the fort is, and it's not in such a great condition, but if you overlook the condition of it, you would be able to understand how truly beautiful the fort is, especially with the fantastic views. Due to the fort being in an open area, it is best advised to visit the fort between the months of November and March, when the weather would be pleasant for you to explore the fort.
