Hi I tried to book train tickets on irctc.co.in but all am getting is unable to retrieve train list, it is asking me to enter railway station code which I really don't know and after typing Bangalore it is not showing me any railway station code. Am I typing the correct spelling or it is something different? What is the railway station code for Bangalore? I will really appreciate if you can help me book my train tickets.
Hi You have spelled Bangalore correctly but our Indian Railways loves to play practical jokes with passengers so the station code for BANGALORE CITY JUNCTION is SBC other railway station in Bangalore is YESVANTPUR JUNCTION with station code YPR. If you are booking train ticket from New Delhi to Bangalore then I suggest you to search from NDLS to YPR, and prefer booking Bangalore Rajdhani or Sampark Kranti as these trains are fast and travel time is less.
