Charing Cross Hotel

I will be in Ooty for a few days and someone who prefers to stay at a very simple and quiet location. Many hotels which I have looked at are booked for the particular days required, and the one which is available is Charing Cross hotel.

It seems like an ideal hotel especially when I don't have much choice!. The one thing appealing is the location which is quiet, and it is only 15 minutes away from the airport.
As I have three days at the hotel, I would like to know what the hotel is like, so I can be a bit prepared for the kind of stay I will have.

Any good places to eat near the hotel, as I am not someone who likes eating at the hotel restaurants?

I would recommend you try the Nahar Sidewalk Cafe, or the Dhaba Express. Both have good food and a great atmosphere. I can't help too much on the hotel, but thee reviews of it online are pretty good for that tier of hotel. Best of luck!

• Cafe Coffee Day - You can find them near the Botanical Garden. Try out their Tiramisu Smoothie, it's my favourite. Their address is: Botanical Garden Road, Ooty, Tamil Nadu.

• Shinkow's Chinese - This is probably one of the oldest restaurants in Ooty. They offer Chinese cuisine. My favourite would have to be their Beehoon Noodles and Chili Chicken. Their address is: 38/83, Commissioners Road, Opposite SBI, Upper Bazzar, Ooty, Tamil Nadu 643001.

• Ooty Coffee House - They have Indian and Chinese cuisines. Their address is: 2nd Floor, Commercial Road, Upper Bazar Road, Ooty, Tamil Nadu 643001.

• Big Bite - This has American fast food dishes. They mainly serve fried chicken dishes. Their address is: 114, TTDC, Youth Hostel building, Ooty, Tamil Nadu 643001.
