We are planning for a road trip to Leh via Srinagar-Leh Highway. We will be arriving in Srinagar late in the afternoon. We plan to do the journey to Leh from Srinagar during the day time due to the challenging condition of the roads. So looking for a decent staying option for one night in Srinagar. We don't need any added facilities or comfort, just need the hotel room to take some rest before the journey. We are a group of backpackers with a tight budget. So kindly suggest us some good but cheap hotels in Srinagar, preferably within the price range of 500-1000 bucks per night.
There are quite a few cheap hotels around the K.P. Bagh area in Srinagar. Boulevard Road is another place where there are lots of hotels, few of which are well within your price range. We once stayed at Lonely Guest House near Mehjoor Bridge in K.P. Bagh. The tariff was INR 750 for a double room. The room was clean and the staffs were well-behaved. There are a few cheap hotels near the JKSRTC Bus Stand in Srinagar. You can also find cheap hotels around the railway station area. Whenever I look for cheap hotels, I make sure to search in areas close to the bus stands and railway stations. You can invariably find a cheap hotel in such busy areas, especially if it is a popular tourist spot. During our trip to Srinagar in 2013, we stayed in a hotel near Rainawari area. The name of the hotel was Gulshan Valley. We got a family room for 4 people and the price was just Rs 1500 per night. It's a good value for money hotel with friendly staffs. Hello there! Here are some budget accommodations in Srinagar: Hotel New Green View - This hotel is just very near the Mughal Gardens and about 3 kms away from the Srinagar Tourist Reception Centre. Their Single Class B Room is at Rs. 600 per night. During winter though, if you'd like to use heating, there's an extra charge of Rs. 200.
