I just saw on the forum that a person said it’s possible to take an overnight adventure into the desert and camp. They said that you ride a camel to the destination. Does anyone know about this?
There are some places to do a camel ride and staying overnight in Rajasthan,but the real Desert experience is in the heart of the great Indian Desert called the THAR Desert in a city of Jaisalmer,Rajasthan.Jaisalmer the Golden city of India.Till some years back there used to be long camel safaris,from 01 - to 15 days,but mostly 3-4 days.But now a days most of the people only do 01 day and 01 night safari or some hours camel ride and overnight in the Desert,under millions of stars,natural desert wind feeling it's flora & fauna..natural desert music.Most of the people do this way.... In the afternoon by Jeep/Car drive to the beginning point of the Desert 45 Kms.from Jaisalmer,ride a camel to see amazing sunset over the Golden dunes,after sunset check-in in the camp site,(Resort),where you will be welcomed in desert style,after wash and change,enjoy traditional folk dances and music of Rajasthan,followed with the GALA dinner with so many delicious cuisines,overnight in Swiss cottage Tents,(with attached toilet & running water).Next morning if you wish to do a short/long camel ride to see a rising of sun in middle of the golden dunes,on the way back to the camp site have breakfast and drive to the next destination of your choice. There are 03 different categories to sleep in the dunes. 01-: Luxury Swiss cottage tents with attached toilet and running water. 02 -: Small trekking/safari tents,to be pitched on the top of the dunes,far away from camps,lonely place of your choice. 03 -: Bed rolls/mattresses and blanket will be provided,you can choose the place and feel the peace like you never had before. Before going to the sand dunes,there are many small villages can be visited.Also possible to have the visit of the desert national park to see many of the desert creatures/animals,like never before.But need to have permission sometime before you go there.Please don't forget that Jaisalmer is the ultimate place for the Camel ride to experience the real desert,not the one which is created for the tourist.
