A group of us are planning a trip to Jaisalmer and would like to stay in a hotel which is located outside the fort. Our group consists of young teens to elderly aged around 65 years, so the hotel location should be within walking distance to the local shopping places and the fort itself. We would prefer the hotel budget to be mid range say around Rs1500-Rs2000 per night.
There are quite a few hotel options which are close by to the fort. I can not say exactly how far the shops are, but it is either by the fort or by the shops. The hotels which are near the fort are: Sagar Guest House - rooms starting at Rs2000 Hotel Sky Plaza - rooms starting from Rs2500 (slightly over the budget) Hotel Marina Mahal - rooms starting from Rs1700 Mahadev Palace - rooms starting from Rs2500 There are other hotels but there tariffs are higher than what you want, if you are looking for a really good hotel within your budget then I would suggest you look for a hotel slighty further away from the fort.
