Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and have joined to get some help in knowing which is the most beautiful hill station in India? I plan to take my wife on a romantic getaway, and I want to make it a special trip and want the place to be special too. I am from Delhi so places like Shimla and Kullu are very common and looking for something better. I am willing to travel by flight as well so location is no issue.
Hi, I guess you should try Wilson Hills swhich is in Gujarat. It is very near to Surat and the Dharampur Tahsil. It stands in a densely forested region close to the Pangarbari Wildlife Sanctuary and is one of the few hill stations in the world from which it is possible to glimpse the sea.
There is no dearth of Resorts all over the country. Club Mahindra has them all spread over the country. You could go for those in Munnar, Ooty, Coorg and Goa which are miles away from Delhi. Their rates are staggered for you to choose from.
I really enjoyed my time in Shillong in 2012, and I would love to propose this destination to anyone who want to visit a Hilly-station. It is the capital city of Meghalaya and I discovered that Monsoon is the best time to visit Shillong, as the entire city breathes a new life in the rains. The surrounding landscapes in Shillong are captivating, to say the least. You can spend your time here at the Shillong peak and gaze at the lush green hills, have a picnic near Elephant Falls, or enjoy a boat ride over the Umiam Lake. For the adventurer in you, try the water sports like kayaking and water skiing at any of the stunning lakes in the city.
I think you have confused yourself with another thread. This thread actually is asking which is the most beautiful hill station in India and not the resorts. From the number of hill stations I have been to I think that Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir is a beautiful hill station. There is greenery, a beautiful lake, Bataab Valley and it's not crowded like other hill stations.
Thank you for bringing this to my notice. You are right. Seems what I posted here should have been posted elsewhere. Fine then. Here is what I have to say. Munnar in Kerala - known as God's own country is an ideal hill station. Then there is Ooty, Kodaikanal in Tamilnadu all offering what a tourist looks for in a Hill Station. However, there are no direct flights from Delhi to these places but one can taxi down after reaching the nearest airports which are Cochin for Munnar, Coimbatore for Ooty and Madurai for Kodaikanal.
