Time Of Year To Travel

My last trip to India was ruined by very hot humid conditions , although it was very beautiful in new Delhi , it was a business trip so I had no way of influencing my travel dates but I would like to plan a good trip to go back and see more as I really liked what I saw , my only issue would be I would like to avoid bad whether months , anyone have advise on best times to travel .
 
I've actually been researching this too, to try and determine when the best time of year is to go. Everything I've read really points to the best time to visit being in the cool, dry season, between November and March. That way you're not having to contend with super hot temperatures or lots of rain!
