Is a visa needed in going to Myanmar? I am ignorant of the place and all I know is their leader named Aung Suu Kyi who was previously imprisoned for political reasons. But I have heard that everything is cheap in Myanmar and Buddhism is dominant. If that is true then it would be just like Thailand where more than 90% of the population are Buddhist. I am asking about the visa because we have a 10-day vacation in August and we are scouting for a place to go.

Yes, a visa is required to visit Myanmar. You need to visit the Burmese embassy or consulate for your visa application.
