When And Where Can I See Snow In India?

I'm never able to see snow where I live in the United States; it just never gets cold enough for that. So I thought maybe I'd have the opportunity to see it while we're vacationing. When and where can I see snow in India?

    Romantic Getaway Location?

Sharon, run a Google search of honeymoon packages in India. I know this won't actually be your honeymoon but it's the best way to return results geared towards romance. Plenty of results will come up!

    Bengal Tiger Tours?

This sounds like the guided tours you can go on in Africa to see wild lions. I would imagine you are in a vehicle the whole time, right?

    Sri Lanka By Bike

How many miles would you be biking each day, Jackie? This sounds like fun but I also worry my bum would hurt at the end of the day (and maybe even chafe).

    Leh (monasteries)

In doing research I came across a description of Leh, where many monasteries are located. I was really moved by the images in particular and now I'm thinking of a more spiritual, relaxing trip to India rather than an adventure-filled, always-doing-something type of vacation. Has anyone here ever...

    Paragliding In Manali

Paragliding sounds awesome! That's another thing I didn't know you could do in India. I'm not sure where Manali is, though. I'll have to look that up. Maybe this is something I could do as well if Manali isn't too far from wherever we wind up staying.

How Do You Save Up For Your Travels?

How many months in advance do you typically book? I'm curious as I don't usually book until the month of. How much can you really save by booking further ahead of time?

How Do You Save Up For Your Travels?

Can you really save a lot of money with frequent flyer points? I love the idea of saving by booking last-minute trips. Helps you save money plus it helps the salesman make a buck or two. Everybody wins. :)

Is It Safe For Women To Travel Alone In India?

I've heard that the culture towards women is different in India than it is here in America. Is it safe for women to travel alone there? Or, more specifically, women tourists? Do I need to always keep a travel partner with me?

How Do You Save Up For Your Travels?

This is exactly what I do. I have my check set up to deposit mostly into my checking account with a small percentage set up to deposit into a savings account. I thought I would miss that money when I first set it up but now I don't even notice it "missing."

Has Anyone Tried House Swapping For Holidays

I agree with Tabitha; I would definitely remove anything of serious value before house swapping. I do that when I have company stay overnight, though.

    Camel Safari -- Bikaner

I didn't see a specific company when last I looked into it but I plan to delve a bit further and update as soon as possible. :) I was looking on a site that helps you plan vacations.

    Camel Safari -- Bikaner

I was reading up about adventurous things you can do in India and came across a list that included camel safaris! How cool is that? I've put it on my to-do list because that's one thing you can do in India that you just can't do here in the states. I've been on a horse once but never a camel!

Has Anyone Tried House Swapping For Holidays

Now this is an idea I could get behind! I like the idea of house swapping; it seems like it would hold you and the person you swap with more accountable. You don't want to trash their house because you don't want to go back home and find your own house trashed!

    Exploring Nepal

I think those are all good places to start. I don't know anything about volunteering with them, either, but I should think they'd be grateful for the help!
