I'm a bit concerned with the hectic traffic in India and was wondering if it's even worth considering renting a car to get around. Should we instead use public transportation options such as buses and trains?

Myself and a group of friends are thinking about visiting India and I was wondering what parts of India have the best partying options? I mean clubs, beaches with lots of tourists and locals having fun and that sort of thing. Of course, we will visit the local cultural attractions as well.
