Australian high commission New Delhi

    I am from Punjab and will be traveling to Delhi to go to the Australian high commission. My mode of transport would be by train and I will be arriving at the New Delhi railway station.

    I need to know how to reach the Australian high commission, and how far it is from the railway station?

    The Australian High Commission in Delhi provides for services that Australian citizens might need while residing in the capital. It also provides services for Indians residing in the capital, who might like to visit the continent slash country. You can utilise the metro to reach the Australian High Commission from the New Delhi Metro Station. The nearest metro station to the Australian High Commission is the Race Course Metro Station, officially renamed as the Lok Kalyan Marg Metro Station. This station is merely 2.4 kilometres away from the Australian High Commission.

    This is the route taken by the train from the New Delhi Metro Station to the Race Course Metro Station. Total journey duration taken is approximately 14 minutes. Fare would be around Rs. 12 per passenger while frequency of train would be every 8 minutes or so. Also included in the table are the train's first timing and the last timing for each station. From the Race Course Metro Station, you can opt to ride an auto rickshaw to take you to the Australian High Commission. The fare would amount to around Rs. 50 to Rs. 70 for a one-way ride. You can also opt for a taxi, though this can be more expensive.

    2. By Delhi Transport Corporation Bus - You can also opt to reach the Australian High Commission by bus from the New Delhi Railway Station. You have the same route as above, exit from the New Delhi Railway Station and reach the bus station. Wait for the buses that would be mentioned below and they would take you to the Race Course Metro Station. There are no direct buses though so you still need to change buses once you arrived at the designated points below. Journey duration can be longer, around 30 minutes depending on the frequency of buses.

    These are just some of the bus routes that you can take to reach Race Course from the New Delhi Railway Station. For example, you can take the Bus No. 166 from the New Delhi Railway Station. You then change buses once you reach the Krishi Bhawan, by boarding the Bus No. 602, Bus No. 781 or Bus No. 990B. Just follow any of the routes above and you can reach Race Course from the New Delhi Railway Station by bus. Fare would be around Rs. 7 to Rs. 10 per passenger. From Race Course, the same goes as above, you can just ride an auto rickshaw to reach the Australian High Commission, barely 2.4 kilometres away, or about 10 to 15 minutes away.

    3. By Taxi - You can also opt for a more convenient option, just riding a taxi from the New Delhi Railway Station to the Australian High Commission. Taxi rates vary depending on the cab operator you utilise. The most popular taxi operators in Delhi are Uber and Ola Cabs. For the cheapest type of Uber taxi, there's the Uber Go, which costs between Rs. 107 to Rs. 130 for a ride from the New Delhi Railway Station to the Australian High Commission. For the cheapest type of Ola Cabs taxi, there's the Ola Micro, with fare rates of around Rs. 119 to Rs. 131 from the New Delhi Railway Station to the Australian High Commission. However, these taxi operates have surge pricing during peak hours. You can also opt for radio taxis or normal metered taxis around the city. The rates would be slightly higher than the ones mentioned above but they won't have surge pricing during peak hours. Journey duration would be around 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the traffic at that time or day.
