I will be in Delhi next month. I wish to visit places in Delhi NCR and would like to know what all places I should visit. All I know about Delhi is India Gate and Qutab Minar, so I need some more information or more like a list or where I should go in the Delhi NCR region.

It's going to be May next month and very hot, so although seeing things which are outdoors would not be suitable, I would still you to mention them, as I would probably consider visiting these places in the early mornings or late afternoon/early evening.

There is a similar thread about the places to visit in Delhi, so do have a look at that if you want to visit places on your own in your own time. If you wish to travel on a tourist bus then have a look at the thread about the Hop on Hop off Delhi bus thread, which covers a majority of the tourist places in Delhi.

Delhi NCR offers a vast variety of places to visit catering to all interests. Here's a list mixing outdoor and indoor attractions keeping the hot weather in mind:

Outdoor places you can visit in the mornings or evenings:

    Red Fort:
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this majestic red sandstone fort was the capital of the Mughal emperors for nearly 200 years. You can explore its museums, halls of audience, and even take a boat ride on the moat surrounding it.

Qutub Minar: Another UNESCO World Heritage Site, this towering 73-meter pillar is an architectural marvel. You can also explore the nearby Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, one of the earliest mosques in India.

India Gate: A war memorial dedicated to the Indian soldiers of World War I, India Gate is a beautiful structure that looks even more stunning when illuminated at night.

Lotus Temple: Also known as the Bahai House of Worship, this iconic lotus-shaped temple is a place of worship for people of all faiths. Its serene atmosphere is perfect for a peaceful visit.

Jama Masjid: One of the largest mosques in India, Jama Masjid is a stunning example of Mughal architecture. Be sure to dress modestly when visiting this religious site.

Lodhi Gardens: A sprawling public park with tombs, pavilions, and a variety of flora and fauna, Lodhi Gardens is a great place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Indoor places you can visit to beat the heat:

    Akshardham Temple:
A magnificent Hindu temple complex known for its intricate carvings and beautiful architecture. There are also exhibitions and a cultural center on the premises.

National Museum: Home to a vast collection of Indian art and artifacts, the National Museum is a great place to learn about the history and culture of India.

Nehru Planetarium: A great place to learn about astronomy and space exploration, the Nehru Planetarium offers a variety of shows and exhibits.

Crafts Museum: This museum showcases traditional Indian crafts from all over the country. You can also see demonstrations of different crafts by artisans.

Dilli Haat: A vibrant market complex where you can buy souvenirs, handicrafts, and traditional Indian food and clothing.

This is just a starting point, of course. With its rich history and culture, Delhi NCR has something to offer everyone. I hope you have a great trip!
