Yes, that's right Calangute is in North Goa.

The top 10 things to do in Goa are:

Calangute beach - The largest beaches in Goa and one which also provides you with the most water sports. There is plenty to do at the beach with the large number stalls selling drinks, souvenirs and food.

Baga Beach - Baga beach is another popular beach full of tourists, and also provides a chance for water sports. If you are looking for some good night life then be sure to stay at Baga Beach during the evening hours. You will also find flea markets and famous eateries and shacks.

Goa State Museum - To get some knowledge about Goa and its history it is a good idea to visit the Goa State Museum.

Chapora Fort - This fort was built in 1617 and is a popular attraction for people visiting Goa. When visiting the fort you get to see a beautiful view of Anjuna beach and Vagator.

Mangueshi Temple - This is one of the largest temples in Goa and it is said that the deity of this temple God Mangesh is the reincarnation of Lord Shiva.

Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception - This church was built in 1541. This is a great place to see some simple architecture and carvings.

Anjuna Beach Flea Market - If shopping is on your list then this flea market is very popular with tourists.

Dudhsagar Falls - If you are willing to travel 2 hours then Dudhsagar Falls is a must visit the place. The beautiful falls will have you mesmerized. You can also swim in the water streams.

Bathing with Elephants - This is something totally different from the usual things one may do when going on holiday. Bathing with Elephants at the wildlife sanctuary will give you a different experience altogether.

Church of St Alex - This is a popular church visited by locals and tourists and its is mainly popular due to its towers and dome inside the church.
