I am flying to Leh valley at the end of April and will be there for a week, so what is the best way to travel around there? Is it safe to hire a bike or a car without a driver or it is easy to get bus/local transport to visit important places? I want to visit Ladakh too, and I am not sure if it is good to travel by public bus or shall I hire a jeep?

    What do you advise?

    Thanks,
    Willy

    Hi Willy,

If you want to enjoy your time in Leh then its better to hire a bike or car (with driver), although local transport is available but it is not available after dark which means you will be restricted to be back by sunset. Most people who go there by Air prefer to hire motorbikes which is the cheapest way of transport there. Royal Enfield motorbike will cost you around INR. 800 to 1000 per day.
