    Tofu

I agree that paneer is probably India's answer to tofu. There's a dish I get here that is paneer with chickpeas and vegetables and this delicious sauce served over rice. I love it!

    Fishing In India

This is an interesting idea and something that my husband would love to do while we're there. How much do licenses cost? Is there such a thing as a one-day license for a tourist?

    Scams In India

Just like anywhere else, if something doesn't seem right, don't do it or accept it. If you're unsure but skeptical, check with the concierge at your hotel or another trusted source before getting involved.

    Lake Pichola Hotel, Udaipur

That place is beautiful, but my concern about places that are only accessible by boat is how often the boat runs and if they offer that service around the clock. I like to be able to come and go as I please and I don't like the idea of being restricted by a boat schedule.

    Daily Budget

I think the answers here prove that a daily budget is different for everyone. Doing some research prior to traveling so you have an idea of what types of restaurants you might choose and the activities you want to do will give you the most solid idea of how much you'll need. Something else to...

20 Romantic Honeymoon Destinations In South India

My upcoming trip isn't for a honeymoon, but these pictures have inspired me to make sure some time is set aside for romance! These are stunning places and it would be a shame if we didn't take advantage of our surroundings.

    Hampta Pass Trek

Does anyone have information about the Hampta Pass Trek? I just heard about this and I was told that it isn't a very hard trek, which is perfect for me. Other than that, all I know is that it takes about five days to complete. I'm very interested in doing this, so any information about it would...

    Translating

Does anyone have plans to use a translator when traveling to India? These days there are digital options in addition to books and I was wondering if I should plan to purchase something like this.

    Types of Fish in India

What types of fish are commonly seen on menus in India? I eat a lot of seafood when I travel and I am looking forward to trying some authentic Indian fish dishes when I am there.

    Tree Bridges In Cherrapunji, Meghalaya

I appreciate the advice, Vinaya. From what I can see, it looks like the bridges have flat walking spaces and sides to hold onto. Do you think slipping could still be a concern?

    Camel Milk

While I love Indian food, I'm not sure I can get on board with drinking camel milk. I have an issue with animal-based products that are out of the norm for me.

Indian Hotel Wins Hotel Of The Year From Tripadvisor

That's a beautiful place! I do use TripAdvisor frequently and they are my trusted go-to site for reviews. I have noticed, though, that I have to take certain reviews with a grain of salt. Some people can really go off the deep end over the smallest things.

    Can You Rent A Home?

I have a friend in New Orleans who uses Air BNB to rent his home out, but he has an extremely long list of contacts from all his travels and most people who stay at his house are friends of friends. If you're with a large group, maybe staying in a stranger's home wouldn't be so bad since there...

    White Rhinos

I didn't think white rhinos were found in India. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought they lived in the southern regions of Africa.

    Mosquitoes

I am the exact same way!! I have to wear long sleeves in the evening in the summer to be outside and my husband will sit around in a tank top looking at me like I'm crazy. I feel like a walking mosquito snack!
