Where is Chennai located? Are there other things to see in that city, tourist attractions or beaches? I also wonder if it is a young crowd that goes there or people of all ages?
That is really sad. I think this would have upset me if I had stayed. They allow such animal fights to happen, even in a tourist place? Someone actually pays to see the snake and mongoose fight to the death?
Those are quite the comfortable looking beds on that bus. How are the drivers who drive those buses. Do they take care not to swerve or drive headlong into traffic coming the other way?
I don't think I would drive anywhere myself but if you are a group you can keep an eye on each other. SUV would be best if you're not sure what kind of roads you will be driving on.
I'd like to visit Mother Theresa's Missionaries of Charity while in Kolkata. I've heard the tomb of Mother Theresa is there as well. Is the public allowed to visit the Mission?
The pictures you see of some of the smaller cities have people walking where they want. I'd be terrified of being run over by a car, truck or bike while I walked. There is no rhyme or reason to the way they drive on city and country roads.
I think it would be wonderful to see how Indian culture is reflected in their art and what makes it unique to India. I'm sure there are some interesting galleries in Delhi but what about the market places? Do they show and sell their artwork there?
Is it possible to visit a tribe in India. I'd love to see how they live, what their culture is like and how they manage to survive without modern day utilities. Are they welcoming when it comes to strangers in their midst?
Is there anywhere in India that you can take a hot air balloon ride over sites? Are they part of a tour operated out of India and what would be the cost? The views would be spectacular up in a balloon.
With the new advisory about Zika virus it's probably a good idea to pack or buy mosquito repellent. I haven't heard of any cases in India but they do have other mosquito-borne diseases so better safe than sorry. You can probably purchase it really cheap in one of the stores or at the hotel.
I'm glad to hear that. I often wonder if, as a tourist, I'm invading their space and disturbing their natural habitat to the detriment of the animal. I live in a city that takes it's tourism seriously and sometimes find it difficult to get to work on time with all the tourists crossing the...
I know different countries have some of the same brands we do but they say the taste is always different than the American version. Has anyone tried any of the chocolate to let us know if that is true?
Do the people in India have a lot of superstitions? I know there are countries that seem to be superstitious of a lot of things, from black cats to using the left hand to pass something. I went to school with an Indian girl who would laugh about all the superstitions her parents had.
How sad is that, being looked down upon just because you are a widow. I certainly hope that changes with the younger people. You can't help if you husband passes away and it isn't your fault. That is a very strange tradition, can anyone tell me why?
