Hi everyone, I am traveling to Amritsar in June and will be staying there for 2-3 days to know more about Punjabi culture. Is there anyone who can give me an idea how is the weather there during June and early July? I want to do a one day trip to the Wagha border too, so is it the good time to visit Wagha or not? Thanks.
End of June is going to be HOT. If possible visit the Golden temple late night or early morning like 3ish if you want to avoid the heat. The timing for ceremony at Wagah border is at 5:30 or 6PM depending upon the time of the year so I would say get there by 5 to get a good seat or may be earlier and don't forget you water bottle.
Now is the time to visit Amritsar and every day it is going to get warmer and warmer. Not a good idea to visit in June or even July. Hills are a good idea that time of the year.
From June to August the weather in Amritsar is quite hot quite similar to Delhi you can say. Any other months apart from the ones mentioned are a good time to go. In winters the weather gets very cold during the early mornings and at night.
