As you may know, a lot of Malaysians are Indians by origin. When I visited Malaysia, I went to a lot of Indian restaurants that served banana leaf rice. Can I find this everywhere in India or is it specific to a certain area?
As far as I know, banana leaf rice is a recipe that comes from Southern India. However, I am quite sure that you can find restaurants that serve it all over the country.
This sounds very interesting. I have visited a few islands during my travels. I have seen the natives wrap food in banana leaves to put in their underground ovens. I have never heard of banana leaf rice before. Do they cook the rice in a banana leaf? This sounds very interesting and also delicious.
