I am from Delhi, and I would like to know about the Delhi to Agra bus service availability and what options I have for the buses going to Agra.

Some of the important information I require is the cost of the ticket, the time it takes and where the bus stops in Agra.

    Overview

The distance between Delhi and Agra is about 233 kilometres if you take the Yamuna Expressway. If you take the National Highway, the distance to cover is about 250 kilometres. Journey duration would be around 3 hours and 30 minutes to 4 hours, if you drive this distance by car. If you take public transportation, the journey duration would be a bit longer, around 4 hours to 5 hours. You have two options for buses, either government-operated buses or privately-operated buses.

Government Buses from Delhi to Agra

    1. Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) Buses - The UPSRTC operates a few buses plying directly from Delhi to Agra. They have different buses too, namely: Shatabdi AC, Volvo and Jan Rath. They also have different boarding points and drop-off points, depending on the type of bus you choose. Journey duration is around 3 hours to 3 hours and 30 minutes. Fares differ too depending again on the type of bus you choose.

UPSRTC Shatabdi AC Buses from Delhi to Agra
Bus NumberDeparture Terminal - TimeArrival Terminal - TimeFare
    Bus No. 1Kaushambi - 7:15Agra ISBT - 10:45Rs. 404

    Bus No. 3Kaushambi - 16:45Agra ISBT - 20:20Rs. 404
As you can see from the above table, the Shatabdi AC buses operated by UPSRTC depart from Kaushambi Metro Station in Delhi but it also has pickup points in Noida Depot and Pari Chowk. So if you live close to either of these areas, you can also board the bus from these points. The buses would then reach the Agra ISBT in about 3 hours and 30 minutes, more or less. Fare is just at Rs. 404 per passenger.

UPSRTC Volvo Buses from Delhi to Agra

From the above table, the Volvo buses operated by UPSRTC depart from the Sarai Kale Khan bus terminal in Delhi but they also pick up passengers from Pari Chowk. The buses also reach the Agra ISBT in under 4 hours time. Fare is around Rs. 595 per passenger.

For the Jan Rath buses, they depart either from the New Delhi Railway Station or the Sarai Kale Khan bus terminal. However, they drop off passengers at the Agra Cantt Railway Station instead of the Agra ISBT. Fares are around Rs. 385 and Rs. 405 per passenger. Or you can opt for the privately-operated buses, the best one being the Taj Express Bus Service, which only has three hours of journey duration. Though they are non air-conditioned buses so can be a bit uncomfortable. If you prefer AC buses, you can choose between the Fouji Tourist Service, Hans Travels and Shri Maruti Travels. You can book the private buses from this link.

    I hope this helps you.:)
