My boyfriend and I will be coming to India for a holiday in mid-November. Our stay will be in Delhi for two weeks, and we are then thinking of going to Agra to see the Taj Mahal and fort.

Can someone please provide details on how to travel from Delhi to Agra?

Certainly! Traveling from Delhi to Agra, especially to visit the iconic Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, is a common and convenient journey. Here's how you can travel from Delhi to Agra:

    By Train:

    1. Gatimaan Express: This is one of the fastest and most convenient options. It departs from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station (NZM) in Delhi and arrives at Agra Cantt Railway Station (AGC) in Agra. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

    2. Shatabdi Express: Another popular option, it also departs from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station and reaches Agra Cantt Railway Station. The journey duration is around 2 to 2.5 hours.
    By Road:

    1. Private Taxi/Car: You can hire a private taxi or car for a comfortable and convenient journey. The distance between Delhi and Agra is approximately 200 kilometers, and the drive typically takes around 3 to 4 hours, depending on traffic conditions. The Yamuna Expressway is the recommended route for a smooth ride.

    2. Bus: Several private and government-run buses operate between Delhi and Agra. You can check with bus operators for schedules and ticket prices. The bus journey can take around 4 to 6 hours, depending on the type of bus and road conditions.
    By Air:

    1. Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Kheria Airport (AGR): While there is an airport in Agra (Kheria Airport), it is primarily used for domestic flights and may not have frequent connectivity. The most common and convenient way to reach Agra is by train or road from Delhi.
Once you reach Agra, you can explore the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, and other historical sites. Agra is a city steeped in history and culture, and these attractions are not to be missed during your visit. Enjoy your trip to Agra!
