My friend and I would like to go to Agra, and we are the type who hardly ever plan a date or time when we want to go, and suddenly just decide to take off.

This time round we want to know about our journey and would like to know about the buses from Delhi to Agra.
We would like to know how regular the bus service is and which route they take. We would like to take a bus which goes from the Yamuna Expressway, but it is not necessary that we take that bus, so would like to know about the buses which go from the normal route.

    Overview

The distance between Delhi and Agra is about 246 kilometres, if you take the normal route. Driving this distance can take around 4 hours and 30 minutes to 5 hours. But with the recently introduced Yamuna Expressway, which begins at the outskirts of Delhi and ends just before Agra, about 165 kilometres long, travelling from the capital to the home of the Taj Mahal has been easier and faster. What usually takes about 5 hours of driving can now be covered within 3 to 4 hours of driving. Fortunately, there are plenty of buses plying through this route, some utilise the normal national highway route, while others utilise the Yamuna Expressway.
