I need to go Madurai from Chennai where I currently am staying and would get a flight for this trip. I need to find out if there are any direct flights from Chennai to Madurai, I don't want any connecting flights especially when the flight duration is so less. I would also like to know when the best time to book a flight is to get the cheapest ticket, the current price I am getting is Rs3500. I am in no hurry to be in Madurai but do need to be there so dates are not an issue.
There are about 10 direct flights a day, from a number of carriers. I would go with Jet Airways. I see prices as low as Rs 1500, so it depends on what deals are available at the time. Typically, the cheapest airfare is gotten several months out, and on certain days, since travel happens closer to the weekends. I think Wednesday is typically the cheapest day to book.
