I was looking for a budget hotel in Havelock and have come across Gold India beach resort.

Being a budget resort I am not expecting much from it, but there are few things that I would like to find out about the hotel.

    1. Do they provide WiFi services?

    2. What is the hotel location like? Are there places to go which are near the resort?

    3. What are the views on the in-house restaurant?

Hello, @Mariam! Welcome to the forum!

Gold India Beach Resort is located in Havelock Island. It's about 46 kms from Port Blair and 17 kms from Neil Island. The resort is very near the sea, as compared to other resorts in the area. The resort also has water sports activities available. You can even rent bicycles and cars from them. They also have a travel desk that can assist you during your stay in the resort.

Here are their rates for the cottages:
    • Deluxe Cottage at Rs. 5,500 per night (With Breakfast)
    • Super Cottage at Rs. 10,500 per night (With Breakfast)
Here are the services provided by the resort:
    • Daily housekeeping, suit press, tour desk, car rental, bike rental, laundry and dry cleaning, room service, restaurant and water sports facilities.
    Here are the cottage amenities:
    • Flat-screen television with cable, telephone, air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, mini-bar, wardrobe cabinet and attached bathroom.
The resort does not have free WiFi or internet services.

The resort is just a walking distance from the Vijay Nagar Beach or Beach No. 5 of Havelock, which is its best feature. Other places you can visit near the resort are:
    • Kalapathar Beach - This is about 6 to 8 kms away from the resort. The sands here are silvery and there are black rocks surrounding the coast. The water is an emerald green and suitable for strolling, swimming or even snorkelling. Another good thing about this beach is that it isn't commercialised yet so you can enjoy its serenity to your heart's content. But because of that, there are also no beach beds or shacks nearby. So you have to bring your own tent or hammock so you have somewhere to rest.
    • Kalapathar Village - This village is about 3 kms away from the beach. From here, you can watch the village life and how local fishermen gather their fishes. The village is also rich in produce, from their fruit plantations and vegetables.
These are the nearest attractions to the resort. You can ride an auto or a bus to reach them. Other beaches are far away and would take more than a few minutes to reach.

The restaurant is located very nearby the beach so you can view it while enjoying your meal. They usually serve seafood dishes in the restaurant. Meals are good enough and would do for a few night's stay. There are also some nearby restaurants from the resort like the Full Moon Cafe, Anju Coco Restaurant and Fat Martin.

    I hope this helps.:)
