Not everyone likes to undertake tours during the monsoon but nature demands it differently. Atleast the Jog Falls in Shimoga, Karnataka beckon you to watch it in all its glory and splendour which only the monsoon helps it with.

The water gushes down straight into the reservoir a little different from normal waterfalls. In fact the water falls in four sections and each of them have a name. This fall is assisted by the Sharavathi river.

Approach is by road and any travel agent will organise the entire experience with good accommodation and transportation to reach there.

This is a fantastic place to visit, I went there from Goa with my friends. It was quite a distance and took us around 5 and half hours to reach the destination but was well worth it.

Here is some more information about Jog Falls:

The nearest stations to the Jog Falls are
    • Talaguppa - 13kms
    • Sagara - 30km
Jog Falls is actually one of the highest waterfalls in India. There are two other waterfalls near Jog Falls, Rani Falls, and Raja Falls, which are not quite as fascinating as Jog Falls.
