The beaches in India are known to be dirty and crowded and there are very few beaches in India which we can say are perfect holiday spots or even compare them to the beaches outside of India. The best beaches in India are those which are lesser known or yet to be discovered by tourists. Here is an insight to the 10 less known beaches in India.

    Mararikulam Beach
Mararikulam Beach is in Kerala and is also known as Marari Beach. The beach coastline is full of coconut trees and it is very clean and an ideal location for swimming, parasailing and surfing. There are a few resorts near the beach, which also provide the water sports facilities.

    Kashid Beach
Kashid Beach is in the state of Maharastra in the Konkan region. This beach is only 160km from Mumbai. The Kashid beach is considered to be the best beach in this region.
This beach again is a quiet beach with white sands and clear blue waters. The beach is 3km long and between two mountains.

    Bangaram Beach
Bangaram beach is located in the Lakshadweep Islands, and as everyone knows the beaches at Lakshadweep are all beautiful, but the best one is Bangaram beach.
Bangaram beach has a lot to offer such seeing the coral reef and the lagoons, something which it is famous for, along with sports on land and water.
Again a clean beach which can be visited all year round.

    Silver Beach
Silver beach is in Tamil Nadu in the eastern side of Cuddalore. This beach is slightly different from other beaches as it provides tourists with horse riding and boating, and house boat which is ideal for such a beach, where there are very little tourists. Silver beach is known to be the longest beach in Asia.

    Butterfly Beach
Butterfly beach in located in Agonda village which is in South Goa. This beach is the most picturesque and is a must visit simply because of the views but is very isolated which is why it is also known as the silent beach. The best time to visit butterfly beach is between November to February.

    Tajpur Beach
Tajpur beach is in the state of West Bengal and is 170km away from Kolkata. This beach is unspoiled and is full of natural beauty, it is also famous for the red crabs. On one side of the beach there are pine trees and on the other there is Mandarmani beach.

    Mandvi Beach
Mandvi Beach is in the state of Gujarat and is a very small port. This beach is more of a history beach as it was this very beach where King Maharao visited. The beach also has a 100 years old ship building in the city. This beach is the main attraction in the region.

    Malpe Beach
Malpe beach in Karnataka is scenic beach, and there is a port which is the main attraction of the place. The actual location of Malpe is formed by a collection of islands which are of different sizes.
Malpe beach is generally crowded with locals and tourists.

    Kappad Beach
Kappad beach is another beach in Kerala and it is a famous beach of the Malabar coast. The rocks on the beach are covered with moss which makes the beach more beautiful. The beach has yellow golden sand and clear blue water, which makes it a beach which is not less than beaches outside of India.

That's a great list! I think it's a nice alternative for those who want to go to beaches but despise the overcrowded tendencies that they could have. I might also add these to the list:

    1. Neil's Island in Andama. A perfect diving spot for divers! The scenery above are as breathtaking as the scenery underwater. With white sand, fields, banana plantations and trees, you know you're in for a fun and enjoyable time here.

    2. Bakkhali in West Bengal. This is an eight kilometer long beach which offers something for the the thrill seeker in you. You can ride a boat and go the nearby uninhabited island which boats of forests and beauty. There is also a watch tower where you can enjoy the sunset and scenery.

    3. Agatti Island in Lakshadweep. This picture sums up its beauty.[IMG]
