I will be joining a group of trekkers and going for a camping trip in the foothills of the Himalayas. I did not find much information about camping in India. Is it because no one does it or is it too unsafe to do i? Any tips and suggestions would be welcome.
Where exactly are you going for trekking. There are some places in India which have trekking guides and mountaineering courses. I attended one such course at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. They have a rigorous training before the main trek and the final challenge is to go to an height of 15000 feet. You can check their website for details
