Can some members please suggest some night out places in Pune for us work friends who are currently in Pune for the next 10 days we don't go out anywhere at the moment and are very bored.

We know that Pune is quite a modern place but are not too sure what exactly we can find in Pune, so all suggestions welcome.

Hi, @Moni, welcome to the forum!

    Overview

Just under three hours of driving away from Mumbai is the city of Pune. It is one of the metro cities of India, but has spark differences between other cities. For instance, Pune is relatively green, from its roadside trees to the assortment of plants all around. It is also one of the cheaper metro cities when it comes to the cost of living so you can definitely get your money's worth when in here. With a booming IT industry, Pune is also quite modern but not essentially as chaotic as other metro cities. You can still enjoy the moderate pace of life here, along with the cooler climate, which most tourists and locals appreciate. When it comes to Pune's nightlife, it's very vibrant too and you can choose from several places that will cater to your late night partying or dining needs.

    Night Out Places in Pune

    For the music lovers...

    1. Hard Rock Cafe - This legendary bar/cafe also has a branch in Pune. As with any Hard Rock Cafe, the ambience is quite the same, very laid-back, wooden interiors and of course, also present are the memorabilia of legendary rock icons such as Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan. As such, you would be able to spot rare photographs and even guitars of well-known artists, certainly a treat for the music lovers. Loud music always plays here so if you are not a fan of that, be prepared. Otherwise, the music played here caters to the true blue music lovers, with classic rock hits from different eras. The bartenders are equally fun too, especially when they groove to the famous YMCA song from time to time. When it comes to the food, the cafe has American, Continental and Mexican cuisines. Most of the dishes are finger foods, best paired with a beer or two. Their menu is quite extensive though, especially the bar menu where you can find many cocktails and other alcoholic beverages. If you want to witness a live music show, you can reach the cafe during Thursdays, their designated live night. During the other days, there's still music played by the DJ and you can also request for any song that you would like to be played.

    2. Apache High Street - Featuring a very rugged atmosphere, with its bricked interiors and all wooden furniture, Apache High Street is yet another good night out place in Pune. If you love incredibly loud metal music, so loud that your couch seems to vibrate already, then Apache High Street is the place for you. There is also an outdoor seating area, for those who want some serenity and isolation from the crowds. The menu is a mixture of Continental and Asian cuisines. They have lots of variety for platters, which a group of friends can share and enjoy with a beer. They do have a few rice dishes too, for those who want to enjoy a full meal. Just ordering from them is fun too as they have this retro CD menu that can take you back to your younger age. Their bar menu is extensive, with a variety of cocktails, mojitos and other alcoholic beverages. Apache High Street is definitely for the rock music lovers, or even the heavy metal lovers but there are some laid-back nights like Karaoke Night which others can also enjoy.

    3. High Spirits - High Spirits is unlike any other night out place in Pune. Aside from live musical performances, they are also the venue for other stints such as comedy shows, poetry features and other themes. The ambience is very natural too, as the area has natural greenery going on. The outdoor seating area is very spacious, although the indoor seating area is a bit on the cramped side. Regardless, you won't find High Spirits uncrowded, as it is a favourite amongst Pune locals and even outsiders. It's best to reserve a table especially if you come with a group as the waiting time here can be quite long. They mostly have finger food, comprising of a mixture of Mexican, Continental, Italian and North Indian cuisines. For the alcohol lovers, Thursday is the best day for you, when they have the Bladder Blast Festival and you can drink to your heart's content. You don't really go to High Spirits for the food or even the drinks, but more of for the experience itself. They have some of the best bands, musical performances and stand-up shows in the city, it's almost a sin to miss this place when in Pune.

    4. Swig - For those who love indie music or even art performances, Swig is a good place for that. The restaurant/lounge has a very relaxed atmosphere, with basic pastel coloured stools and dim lighting. What sets it apart is that it features kind of an offbeat music experience for guests. So if you're someone who appreciates budding musicians, reach the place at Wednesdays. Or if you appreciate a different kind of musical experience, wherein other artists like dancers and painters collaborate with musicians, watch out for the monthly art event of Swig. Food served here is that of the Italian and Continental cuisines. Their pizzas and appetisers are quite good, especially when combined with a glass of beer. If you and your friends are up for a unique kind of night experience, Swig is the place to be. Don't forget to book a table as the place gets packed on specially themed nights.

    5. Fishbowl - A bit on the more elegant side of a night out place is the Fishbowl, a restaurant located in the Hyatt Hotel in Pune. The restaurant is very spacious, with wooden flooring and furnitures. The design is very minimalistic and simple, with trendy lightings giving life to the place. So named because of their mini fishbowl glasses where they serve their signature cocktails, Fishbowl is appropriate for friends who just want to relax and chat with one another. There's no loud music here, only soothing jazz and retro music. A new addition to their themed nights is the Motion Picture Soundtrack Night, wherein you can enjoy famous movie songs being modernised by the DJ. They also have a variety of dishes but their seafood dishes are deemed the best here. Are you more of a classical and elegant music lover? Head on to Fishbowl, where ambience, music and food are all up to the standard of a luxury lover.

    6. Stone Water Grill - Probably the most picturesque bar in this section is the Stone Water Grill. It is quite scenic even from the outside, as it is located at the side of a river and enveloped by lush greenery. The interiors are equally beautiful, with lots of artificial water works flanking the place. Cozy seating arrangements care of sofas, dim lighting, a happening dance floor, what more can you ask for? Of course, music played here is top notch too, either by the DJ or by renowned musicians. Whether you're into retro, hip hop or EDM, they got it covered all for you. Even the menu is quite exclusive, as it only has European and Italian cuisines. Despite the limited options for dining, food is quite impeccable here, especially the wood-fired pizzas and pasta dishes. For the bar menu though, it is quite extensive so you can have your fill of cocktails, wines, champagnes and other alcoholic beverages. If you're not that into partying, you can opt for the indoor dining as the dance floor is located on the outdoor seating area.

Offering views of the Pune skyline along with the airport, this restaurant is one of the best rooftop restaurants in the city. It's also not rare to spot airplanes as they take off from or land to the nearby airport. With comfortable seating areas, all are cushioned, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the views. Whether you're visiting during sunset, or during night time, the views here are unmatchable. Once you're done with the views, venture into the dance floor area, located on a lower level from the rooftop area. The interiors are equally gorgeous, with revolving dance floor, from which the entire club is positioned after. The club can accommodate a large crowd and there usually are tons of people partying the night away here. Open only during Saturdays, you're sure to have a grand time with your friends here. The club's design is very simple but cozy, with white couches that compliment the ambience. Dim lighting also sets the mood for a fun night out. A variety of Bollywood and English music are played in the background to further relax the guests. The indoor area has a very laid-back appeal, with its unfinished walls, bright couches and other eclectic seating arrangements. The rooftop seating area has lots of greenery going on with the same bright couches and swings for chairs. Their menu is very extensive but a few dishes do stand out.
