My brother and I are going Hyderabad for a couple of days, and we are both keen on food. We would like to find out the places to eat in Hyderabad, especially where we can get the best biriyani.

We are both non-vegetarians, so you are most welcome to recommend no veg places to eat as well.

Hello there, welcome to the forum.:)

Biryani is a mixed rice dish, with lentils, spices, rice, meat and vegetables. Some say that biryani is synonymous with Hyderabad. Hyderabad Biryani was developed under the rule of Asaf Jah I, which was made using basmati rice, spices and goat. Now, other variations use chicken instead of the goat. Here are some of the best restaurants in Hyderabad known for serving delectable biryanis:

    1. Bawarchi - They have North Indian cuisine and they are best known for their biryanis. They don't have any other branches in Hyderabad so don't be fooled by other restaurants claiming to be their branch. Be prepared to queue as well especially during weekends. Their biryanis have several versions: vegetarian biryani, chicken biryani and mutton biryani. Out of these, the chicken biryani has received the most praises for its succulent taste, soft and almost falling to the bone chicken pieces and just the right amount of spices.

    2. Paradise - They have North Indian and Chinese cuisines. This is a takeaway only restaurant though but it's worth trying out. They do have other dishes but the crowd favourite is their chicken biryani. It is very soft, almost falling into pieces as soon as you bite their chicken. The rice is not too spicy and has a good amount as well. Their special mutton biryani is a winner as well, with the quantity of soft muttons and the rice complimenting it.

    4. Hotel Shadab - They have Hyderabadi, Mughlai and Chinese cuisines. It's one of the oldest restaurants in Hyderabad serving biryani. Ambience-wise, the restaurant doesn't have much to offer but they make up for it with their lip-smacking dishes. The biryanis, both chicken and mutton, have very soft pieces and are spiced just enough to tickle your taste buds.
