I am putting some plans together to go to Pondicherry, a lot of the things have got sorted out, now all I need to do is choose the hotel. This is only possible if I find out which places are good to stay in Pondicherry. Sometimes you get hotels in places where there is absolutely nothing, which I don't want, I would rather be in a touristy area and have easy access to shops and restaurants, and not to mention the beach as well.

Some hotels are near the beach but very far from the city centre. Some hotels are near the city centre but far from the beach. So you must really choose one, or choose a hotel with a good restaurant in it. So I'll just divide this list, one list is for the hotels near the beach and another list is for the hotels near the city centre. Hotels in Pondicherry Near the Beach 1. Le Pondy - This hotel has their own private beach, which is an extension of the Paradise Beach. You can have morning walks or sunset walks as the beach is located very close to the hotel. The hotel is also located close to the lake, so you can easily view it from your room. You can choose between their Sea View Room or Lake View Room. More luxurious options are the Luxury Pool Villas and the Presidential Pool Villas. Rooms are fitted with wooden furnitures and come with complete amenities. Their restaurant is a multi-cuisine one and you can opt to dine out by the pool or by the sea. The hotel also has a swimming pool, Ayurvedic centre, library and health club. The downside is that, they don't have their private beach so you need to venture out to reach the nearby beaches. You can choose between their Villas, Studios and Suites. All accommodations have their private balcony so you can enjoy the view of both the sea and the river. They also have a fine dining restaurant which has seafood dishes as their best sellers. An outdoor swimming pool is also located within the resort premises so you can have access to it. Tariff - Suite Room at Rs. 14,700 per night. They also have a variety of indoor and outdoor games facilities to keep you busy. Internet is complimentary with the rooms as well. You can choose between their Superior Room, Deluxe Suite and Presidential Suite. All rooms are elegantly designed and completely furnished. They also have two restaurants serving both local and international cuisines. They also have a hall for special events like wedding receptions and birthdays. The hotel also hosts several events like Happy Hours and Bacardi Nights. Tariff - Deluxe Room at 5,500 per night and Deluxe Sea Facing Room at Rs. 7,000 per night. Rooms have this colonial era vibe to them and are all completely furnished with modern amenities. They do serve in-room meals, with their menu having a variety of South Indian and Western cuisines. Rooms are also designed using the colonial era style, with draping curtains, antique furnitures and ceramic pots. Their restaurants serve delicious cuisines from all over the world. They can also provide sightseeing guides and assistance for guests. Tariff - Standard Room at Rs. 3,500 per night and Deluxe Room at Rs. 4,800 per night.
