I am going to Vaishno Devi this year in September and I am thinking about taking a helicopter from Katra to the Bhawan. Previously when other relatives went to Vaishno Devi and tried to get a helicopter ride to the Bhawan they were not able to because it was all booked.

In order to make sure that we get a helicopter ride is there a Vaishno Devi helicopter online booking service which we can book our helicopter tickets from?

Hi Jaikant, it is a good idea to pre book the helicopter journey, as there can be a gap of many days until you are able to get a booking and yes there is a Vaishno Devi Helicopter online booking service which is available from the Vaishno Devi Shrine Board website.

The website you need to visit is: www.maavaishnodevi.org

In order to make a helicopter booking, you need to follow the steps below.

    1. You need to register with the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board website, where you will be asked to create your username and password with some other information as well. You need to click on the 'New User Registration' option on the left side of the website.

    2. Once you have registered re-open the website and login in with your username and password.

    3. You now need to choose the 'Helicopter Services' option, where you will be asked information about the route you require, the number of passengers, date of traveling etc.

    4. Once all the information has been entered proceed to the payment gateway and you will be required to open a new link for the bank, where you would enter your credit card/debit card details.

    5. Once your payment has been processed a message will appear on the screen.

    6. Your booking is now complete and do make sure that you take a print out of the booking which you would be required to show when you board the helicopter.

Any idea on how long before we need to make a booking to avoid getting the required dates?

I would say book at least 2 weeks in advance. When it is peak season of visiting Vaishno Devi which is between March and October and also during Navratri it is best to book at least one month in advance to avoid any disappointment.
