I am getting married in August, and everything is being planned to the smallest detail, one thing which I am in charge of is planning the honeymoon. I have searched many destinations and finding it a bit difficult to decide where to go for the honeymoon.

The honeymoon will be in India, but there are just so many beautiful places in India to visit it 's hard to know which is the best place for a honeymoon.

I was considering Goa, but I think it is a crowded and an over popular place, which my fiancee and I would wish to avoid.

Please give your input in the best place in India for a honeymoon, please also mention the best time of the year to visit the places which have been listed.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

There are many places in India for the honeymoon couples. Like you said, places like Goa tend to be a bit crowded and commercialised. However, even in such places, you can find some part of it which is secluded. I think that's the best thing about having a honeymoon in India, you're bound to find unknown destinations even at the most popular regions. If you love nature, India has many destinations for that. If you love adventure, then India doesn't fall short on that as well.

Let us start the listing! This list is about the famous honeymoon destinations in India along with the less crowded regions in the area. Here they are:

    1. Goa. Since you were considering Goa, it means there was something about the place that you found beautiful. Although this place is famous for its nightlife and parties, you can still find some beaches here that are secluded and perfect for couples. Consider the following places:
    • Arambol Beach. Although this beach is starting to gain popularity, it's still one of the lesser crowded beaches in Goa. The beautiful beach is bordered by cliffs on each side. There are many beach shacks which serve delicious food here as well.
    • Cola Beach. This beach has lagoons which make it even more serene and beautiful. There's some beach huts in the area where you can spend the night with your loved one.
    • Sinquerim Beach. There's no shortage of luxury resorts in this area but it remains one of the most secluded beaches in Goa. It's a pristine beach with white sands and turquoise water.
Best time to visit: October to January for pleasant climate, June to September for greenery and great discounts.

    2. Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Just going to the islands can be a bit challenging so that's probably the reason why the beaches here aren't as crowded as other beaches in India. Consider these places:
    • Radhanagar Beach in Havelock Island. Dubbed as the "Best Beach in Asia," it's no wonder why this beach is a paradise for lovers.
    • Ross and Smith Islands. What sets these islands apart from other beaches? Well, it is connected by a sand bar in the middle. Water here is crystal clear as well and not a lot of tourists know about this gem of an island.
    • Guitar Island. The name is derived from the guitar shape of the island. It's a small island but very secluded and romantic, perfect for couples.
Best time to visit: October to May.

    3. Coorg. How about a little bit of Scotland right in India? Well, that is Coorg for you and this is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. Here's some attractions in here perfect for couples:
