Hi....I have few places of interest to visit in India, will list them below :

    1) Gurdwara Sahib Bangla + Sarojini Nagar
    2) Lotus Temple + Lajpat Nagar
    3) Akshardam Temple
    4) Dargah Nizamuddin
    5) Chandi Chowk
    6) Dili Haat
    7) Paharganj

Can someone please be kind enough to advise me, where should I & daughter stay (budget hotel). I mean is there anywhere in centre or should I change hotels regularly. Is it easy to get a hotel reservation.

How do we manage our travels (transport), which would be safer.

Any advise please & Thank you

Hello there, welcome to the forum!

    Overview

Fortunately, the attractions mentioned above are located close to one another. From the furthest point to the other, which is from Chandni Chowk to the Lotus Temple, the total distance is about 17 kilometres. The other attractions, are located at different points but they all form quite an oval shape from Chandni Chowk and back. You can opt to stay at the central part of Delhi, in the Sunder Nagar area, near the National Zoological Park. By staying in this location, you can easily access the northern parts and the southern parts of your itinerary. There are some changes though that you need to make in the itinerary so that you can complete it in a more convenient and hassle-free way, mainly in the way they are arranged.

    Arrangement of Itinerary

    delhi-sighseeing-map.jpg
This is the map showcasing the different areas or attractions mentioned above and a possible way or order of visiting them. They are arranged accordingly, from the areas close to Chandni Chowk, up to the areas that are quite far from it. You can cut the map in half and from there, you would know the order of visiting these areas. So since the areas of Chandni Chowk, Paharganj, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Dilli Haat and Akshardham Temple are close together, you can visit them in one day. The remaining areas of Sarojini Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Lotus Temple and Dargah Nizamuddin can then be visited on your second day. If you're staying in the city for more than two days, then you can further divide your itinerary.

Budget Hotels in Sunder Nagar Area (Near National Zoological Park)

    1. City Centre Inn - Located in the southern part of the National Zoological Park, this is a very basic hotel catering to travellers staying in Delhi. City Centre Inn has a pure white facade and looks very simple from the outside. The building is two-storey high and has over 30 rooms. Their most affordable room is the Superior Room which has ample space, wooden furnitures and a pure white motif too. It has a television and an attached bathroom too. All rooms also have air-conditioning although they are of the older model. It doesn't have its own restaurant but they do provide room service arrangements for breakfast, which comes complimentary to the room's tariff. Other facilities and services are also available, such as airport drop-off or pick-up, laundry services and internet access are also available. Because of its central location, budget travellers have high praises for the hotel, but the modernity and the level of quality of facilities might not be at their very best. However, service is very good, with the staff very enthusiastic about their jobs, leaving you even more pleased with the hotel.
    • Room Rates - Rs. 1,199/Night for Superior Room and Rs. 1,499/Night for Superior Room with Breakfast

From the outside, the hotel has a bright red facade and a small reception area with wooden interiors. The rooms are equally very basic but have air-conditioning. Rooms have wooden furnitures and a creamy white motif. Televisions in rooms have cable as well for the entertainment of guests. For short-term stays, this hotel would certainly do. The hotel staff are very accommodating, going out of their way to provide for the needs of guests. Internet is available in all areas of the hotel but for a charge. And finally, they also have a travel desk, for all the needs of the guests about sightseeing, car rentals or travel-related queries that they might have.

    3. Ashu Villa Guest House - This is a quaint little guest house located in the Pragati Maidan area, close to the National Zoological Park of Delhi. Despite being a budget accommodation option, the aesthetics of the place hasn't been compromised. The small lobby area has marble-like tiles which gives it a posh appearance. The rooms are very charming, with creamy, almost yellowish, white walls and wooden furnitures. Everything has been fitted with modernity, unlike the other hotels which seems to be stuck in time. The attached bathrooms are small but very clean so would delight the neat-freaks. Further, they provide WiFi access to guests, free of charge. Food can be served via room service, with a very delicious home-cooked style of cooking. The guest house is very safe and has been highly rated by previous guests.

    4. Shiva Home Stay Hotel - Another good option is the Shiva Home Stay Hotel, also located on the lower area of the National Zoological Park. The home stay slash hotel only has a few room options so make sure you book in advance. It has a bright yellow facade and looks quite like a small house from the outside. The rooms have modern fittings, from the decors, up to the furnitures and appliances. They also provide for internet access in all areas, free of charge for staying guests. Rooms and the surroundings are kept in a clean state too so that alone makes it a worth it hotel option. 5. Hotel Kabli - This hotel is also located in the Jangpura area, close to Sunder Nagar. This hotel was once just a guest house, opened around the last quarter of the 19th century. It has been converted into a hotel thereafter, catering to the business and family travellers of Delhi. Rates are very easy on the pocket but services and facilities are never compromised. The hotel even has a small garden area that can relax the guest. Rooms have a pure white motif, fitted with modern amenities such as an air-conditioner and flat-screen television. They don't have an in-house restaurant but there are plenty of eateries just a walking distance away from them. Internet is widely available in all areas of the hotel, free of charge for staying guests. Transportation Options for Itinerary

Since the attractions and areas that you're visiting are not that far from each other, your best options are either taxi or rickshaw for travelling between them. Taxis are generally safe as long as you get them from a reputable company. Ola Cabs and Uber are the most popular taxi services in the city. Their rates are higher though during surge hours. Radio taxis are also available in the city, with the likes of Meru Cabs, Mega Cabs and Easy Cabs. Close to Sunder Nagar, the Ashoka Taxi Stand, just a few kilometres away, can also be found. You can also opt to rent a cab for a whole day for more convenience. Rates range between Rs. 1,400 to Rs. 2,800 for an 8-hour whole day rental in Delhi.

Apart from the Chandni Chowk area and Old Delhi, cycle rickshaws also roam the streets and roads of Delhi. You can utilise them for short-distance travels, like from the Akshardham Temple to the Dilli Haat or from Paharganj to the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. These are very cheap as compared to taxis and they're usually available in different points in a locality. Rickshaws use meters to calculate the exact price of your journey, although some won't do so automatically so you need to tell them beforehand about it.

Another option would be buses, which are quite plenty in Delhi. The buses are operated by the Delhi Transport Corporation. There are many bus stands around Delhi and even in the Sunder Nagar area, you can find quite a few. The Zoo Bus Stop, Sujan Singh Park Bus Stop and Dyal Singh College Bus Stop are all scattered around the area. You can check out this website that shows you the different routes that buses pass through. For example, if you want to reach Lajpat Nagar from Sunder Nagar, you can board the Bus Number 404. Or if you want to reach Sarojini Nagar from Lajpat Nagar, you first ride Bus Number 392, be dropped off at Andrews Ganj and board the Bus Number 544 from there. Bus frequency is usually between 5 to 30 minutes, depending on how busy the route is.

    Conclusion

I hope this guide helps you in your travel to Delhi. You can always ask around, if ever you encounter any issues while you're in the city. Your hotel can also arrange for car rental in case you'd like a more hassle-free way of exploring Delhi. Good luck and enjoy Delhi!

All these places are in Delhi and you can visit all of them staying at one place without changing your hotel. You can book your hotel using Oyo rooms app and to get from one places to another use ola cabs or uber app as they are the cheapest options and service is very quick.
