    Hi Kohli.H.

You have two options for traveling from Delhi to Daman and Diu, you can either travel by flight and then a car or take a train. There is a major traveling time difference between the two modes of transport. Below I have provided detailed information about the two ways of reaching Daman and Diu from Delhi.

The road distance from Delhi to Daman & Diu is 1255km and aerial distance is 1015km.

Delhi to Daman & Diu by Train

From Delhi you would need to get a train from Delhi to Vapi, this would be a direct train. From Vapi, you would need to get a bus or taxi which would take you to Daman. This journey would take you around 16 hours. The duration is a lot but if you are on a low budget then is suitable.

Delhi to Daman & Diu by Flight

From New Delhi, you would get a flight to Surat. From Surat, you would then need to get a bus or taxi towards Daman. The total traveling time for this journey would be around 5 hours.

    By Flight:
    • Take a flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi to Surat Airport (STV) in Surat, Gujarat. The travel time is about 1.5 hours. Several airlines operate on this route, including SpiceJet, IndiGo, and Air India.
    • From Surat Airport, take a taxi or cab to Daman (around 2 hours) or Diu (around 4.5 hours).
Train - 15-18 hours travel time (Delhi to Surat) - 2.5 hours (Daman) / 7 hours (Diu)
Flight - 1.5 hours travel time (Delhi to Surat) - 2 hours (Daman) / 4.5 hours (Diu)

    Tips
    • While trains are generally cheaper than flights, consider the longer travel time, especially if you are traveling with a family.
    • If you choose to travel by train, book your tickets well in advance, especially during peak season.
    • Look for deals and discounts on flight tickets, especially if you are flexible with your travel dates.
    • Once you reach Surat, you can find metered taxis or book cabs online or through mobile apps for your onward journey to Daman or Diu.
