Indian Engagement Party Gift Ideas

I will be going to a friends engagement party who is an Indian, and I wanted to know if there are any particular gifts which should be given at Indian engagements, as everything is very religious and traditional.

I need some Indian engagement party gift ideas. My budget is $100, so please suggest accordingly.

If it is just normal gifts as any other engagement then still suggest some gifts, as I think when it comes to my turn buying gifts I am not so good at it.

Back then, the most common gifts for engagement parties in India were juice glasses. It's almost like the equivalent of toaster sets given to newlyweds in the US. However, as I've said, it was back then and it's not customary to give them nowadays.

For maybe Indian themed gifts:

• A religious idol in brass
• A painting of a religious idol
• Gold and silver coins
• Indian themed watches
• Kettles
• Jewelries

Here's a few gift ideas I can give you though:

• A bouquet of the favourite flowers of the bride to be
• Personalised gifts with pictures of the couple like mugs, coasters and picture frames
• A box of chocolates with some wine
• A scrap book signed by all the attendees of the engagement party
• Book about being married
• A CD of the supposed theme songs of the couple
