    Hello,

I heard a lot about the ancient temples of South India and this time I am planning to visit south India for a week. Can you tell me what is the temperature in Tamil Nadu is during March and April? Is it hot, cold, rainy or humid and what type of outfits should I pack for my South India trip?

Thank you so much for your help!

Weather during the months of March and April can reach up to 35 degrees Celsius. Chances of rain are very low during these months.
I would suggest you pack summer cotton clothes like dresses, 3/4 crops, tank tops and don't forget a good sun hat, also pack a light cardigan just in case.

March April months are ok but they do go towards the higher temperatures. In May the weather gets very hot and when going to the temples it would be difficult for you to even put your foot down because of the floor being so hot. I would advise for you to go before May or after September.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

The general climate of Tamil Nadu is tropical and hot all-year round. During the months of March and April, these are part of the summer season. So expect the temperatures to be higher than average. Temperatures range between 32°C to 38°C during the month of March. Temperatures range between 36°C to 42°C during the month of April. The summer season persists until the month of June. By the end of June, monsoon season sets in.

The probability of rainfall during the month of March range between 1% to 3%. The hottest time of the day is the afternoon with temperatures rising to 33°C or higher. The average length of days are 12 hours and 2 minutes. It is also sunny approximately 82% of the day.

During the month of April, the probability of rain ranges between 4% to 7%. The hottest time of the day is the afternoon as well with temperatures rising to 35°C or higher. The average length of days are 12 hours and 24 minutes. It is also sunny approximately 72% of the day.

It is hot and humid during these months in Tamil Nadu. You should bring light, airy and cotton clothes. The more breathable they are, the better. Also, bring your sunny weather ensembles like umbrella, cap and of course, a towel to wipe off the sweat. For shoes, it's best to use sandals or flip flops. You also need to bring an extra t-shirt in case what you're wearing becomes wet with sweat. Lastly, bring your own water bottle to quench your thirst.

    I hope this helps!

Well this is something that we were not able to do while we were over there, but I have to say that it sounds like a great way to really experience the history of the country. I would like to think that overall we did a pretty good job at this, but this would definitely add a little something to that and would have been great to experience. I hope that it as rewarding as it seems it would be, and thanks for sharing, and thank you to @briannagodess for the detailed information.
