Sun n Sand Hotel Mumbai

I would like to know what you guys think about the Sun n Sand hotel in Mumbai, where I would like to take my wife for a surprise.
She is currently at home and I have been in Mumbai for 2 weeks now and she is coming here to visit me.

I thought this hotel would be ideal as the location is great as it is by the beach, its within my budget range and seems decent enough for spending time with your partner.

It would be good if the hotel serves some good food as well, so that we won't have to go out much or far from the hotel.

I would also like to know what room options the Sun n Sand Hotel in Mumbai has.

All the rooms in the hotel are quite luxurious and exudes elegance. From the delicately designed interiors, up to the classy furnitures, everything has been well-thought off. You can choose from three different room types from the hotel.

There's a small drawing board/living room area as well, just beside the window where you can enjoy the ocean views. • Executive Room - Spacious and perfect for families or couples, the Executive Room has it all. It has carpeted flooring with a separate living room area along with a work desk facing the window. The room also comes with modern amenities like television, safe, climate control, mini bar and internet. The bathroom is very spacious too, with a bath tub, separate shower area and toilet. Marble flooring line the bathroom and it comes with complete sets of toiletries.

Additionally, they also have the Club Superior Room and the Club Ocean Room. Both have the same features and amenities as the Superior Room and the Ocean Facing Room, respectively. But they are more of for the Sunshine Gold members of the hotel.

• Luxury Suite - The Luxury Suite has a separate dining room along with a living room and bedroom with attached bathroom. Depending on the suite allotted to you, you can also enjoy the different themes per suite. The living room has a sofa set along with television and a small work desk area. The dining area, adjacent to the living room, is also spacious and elegant. The bedroom has its own television too plus some sitting areas. The bathroom also has a bath tub, shower and toilet along with a hair dryer and magnifying glass.

• Presidential Suite - The Presidential Suite is the most luxurious of all the suites, boasting of a British era architecture and design. There are also modern elements like the funky lamps and eccentric furnitures. Just like the other suites, there are separate areas for dining, lounging and sleeping too. The bathroom is the best feature yet, with its own jacuzzi, glass-paneled shower and toilet.

These are the rates for the different rooms in the hotel. Although there are different suites, only the Luxury Suite has the available price online. These rates are already inclusive of a breakfast buffet, access to swimming pool and the taxes as well. However, internet is not free of charge and you have to pay a fee of Rs. 250 per 24 hours of internet usage.

What are the restaurants located within the Sun N Sand Hotel in Mumbai?

There are three restaurants in the hotel plus a lounge/bar. The first one is Aqua, their 24-hour coffee shop, which is also where the buffet breakfast is served. The cafe has a variety of Indian dishes along with some American and Italian ones. Although the breakfast spread is quite extensive, you can also opt to order ala carte dishes like pastas, soups, burgers and sandwiches. They also have a small section dedicated for desserts like cakes, ice cream and brownies.

Next is Haaochi, which offers Chinese dishes to guests. Ambience-wise, the restaurant has very simple but classy interiors. There's also an open kitchen so you can see the chefs while they are preparing your meals. Their menu is quite extensive, with steamed & fried dumplings, along with soups, vegetables, chicken, meat, noodles and desserts. Their dumplings are worth trying out especially the crystal prawn dumpling and pan fried vegetarian dumpling. Also a must for seafood lovers is their sweet tiger prawns sweet chilli sauce, yum!

Last on the list is Kabab Hut, which serves mainly North Indian, Lucknowi and Awadhi cuisines. The restaurant is also sea-facing so you can enjoy the coastal views while dining. The restaurant serves succulent and delicious kebabs, soft and not gummy at all. Try out their kakori kebab or galavati kebab. They also have some vegetarian dishes in their menu.

An added bonus is their Beachcomber bar/lounge. You can enjoy a night out with your loved one here, with the variety of cocktails and wines that they serve. They also have a food menu although it's not that extensive and mainly has finger foods. The foods though go well with the beverages especially the sumac chicken kebab and chicken drumstick.
