    Hello, @Ramgopal!

It's possible to fit in all these places in 4 days, but it can be a bit rushed. The distance between Bangalore & Mysore and between Mysore & Ooty isn't that long anyway. So here's what you would need to do.

This is the route you have to take if you're travelling via car or hired taxi:

    1. From Bangalore to Mysore, the distance is about 146 kms. It can take you three hours to reach Mysore. Here's the route you need to take:
    • Bangalore > Kumbalgodu > Ramanagara > Channapatna > Madduru > Mandya > Kysare > Mysore.
    2. From Mysore to Ooty, the distance is about 130 kms. It can take you three hours to reach Ooty. Here's the route you need to take:
    • Mysore > Nanjanagudu > Kalale > Thondavadi > Bendagalli > Managalli > Theppakadu > Mavanalla > Ooty.

If you're travelling via public transportation, here are your options:

    Bangalore to Mysore

    1. KSRTC Buses - Bangalore has two major bus stations: Majestic and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation. From there, you can ride KSRTC buses going to Mysore. Some of their timings are:
    • 2:35, 3:05, 3:12, 3:20, 3:29, 3:30, 3:59 and 4:10.
Farve varies between Rs. 124 to Rs. 300 per passenger.

    2. Private Buses - Most of these buses depart from the Majestic Bus Station. Some of their timings are:
    • Kallada Travels Suresh (Volvo AC Semi-Sleeper) - Departs at 1:15 pm and arrives at 5:00 pm. Fare is at Rs. 300 per passenger.
    • SRS Travels (Scania AC Semi-Sleeper) - Departs at 6:15 am and arrives at 10:30 am. Fare is at Rs. 236 per passenger.
    • RKT Tours and Travels (AC Seater Push Back) - Departs at 4:00 am and arrives at 7:00 am. Fare is at Rs. 230 per passenger.
    3. Train - You can ride a train from Bangalore City Junction to Mysore City Junction. Here are their timings:
    • Chennai - Mysore Kaveri Express Train No. 16021 - Departs everyday at 4:10 and arrives at 6:50.
    • Bangalore - Mysore Passenger Train No. 56233 - Departs everyday at 5:00 and arrives at 8:10.
    • Mysore Express Train No. 16231 - Departs everyday at 6:00 and arrives at 8:40.
    Mysore to Ooty

    1. KSRTC Buses - These buses depart from the Central Bus Stand in Mysore. Here are their timings:
    • 7:01, 8:31, 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 11:00, 12:30, 12:45, 13:45 and 15:00.
Fare is between Rs. 131 to Rs. 390 per passenger.

    2. Private Bus - These buses depart from the City Bus Stand in Mysore. One operator I was able to find is:
    • Greenland Travels and Holidays (Non AC Push Back) - Departs at 8:00 am and arrives at 1:00 pm. Fare is at RS. 350 per passenger.
    3. Trains - Unfortunately, there are no direct trains between Mysore and Ooty.

A possible itinerary for you would be:

Day 1 - Arrive in Bangalore by mid-morning. Check in at the hotel and do some sightseeing.
    • Tipu Sultan Fort - Originally, this was built by Kempe Gowda in the year 1537. He used mud bricks at that time. Then, it was renovated by Haider Ali and he used granite stones to do so. It was again renovated by Tipu Sultan thereafter, hence the name. Inside, you'll find a temple for the Lord Ganesha.
    • Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens - This was built by Haider Ali and again, was renovated by Tipu Sultan. It has about 1,800 species of plants and herbs inside.
    • Bangalore Palace - This was built by Chamaraja Wodeyar in 1884. Though this is a palace, it is now used for events like concerts and exhibitions.
    • Shivasamudram Falls - This has Asia's first hydroelectric power station. To reach the falls, you'd need to trek for two hours. During the monsoon seasons, the rain feeds the falls and the result is a stunning showcase of the water from the falls.
Travel back to the hotel, have dinner and rest for the night.

Day 2 - Travel from Bangalore to Mysore. Arrive by mid-morning in Mysore. Do some sightseeing after lunch and check in.
    • Karanji Lake - This is a manmade lake which is the home to several migratory birds. You can enjoy watching the birds from the banks of the lake.
    • Mysore Zoo - This zoo is the home not only to Indian animals, but to animals found all over the world.
    • Mysore Palace - Originally, this was built in 1897 using wood. Unfortunately, the palace was damaged by a fire so it was renovated in 1912. It's best visited in the evening to see the palace being lit up by over 98,000 light bulbs.
Travel back to the hotel, have dinner and rest for the night.

Day 3 - Travel from Mysore to Ooty. Arrive by mid-morning or lunch. Check in at the hotel and do some sightseeing.
    • Botanical Gardens - You can find this at the slopes of the Doddabetta Peak. It has a lot of species of plants, flowers and herbs. You can enjoy walking here or maybe trying out the delicious food offered by stalls here.
    • Doddabetta Peak - This is about 8,650 feet above sea level. From the peak, you can view the surrounding areas and the valley below.
    • Government Rose Gardens - There are about 20,000 species of roses in here. Make sure you bring your camera as they're very beautiful to photograph.
    • Ooty Lake - You can end your day with a boat ride in here. It is a manmade lake built during the British regimen in 1824. It has around 65 acres of area.
Travel back to the hotel and have dinner. Then, rest for the night.

Day 4 - After breakfast, do some more sightseeing.
    • Mudumalai National Park - You can see rare animal species like Bengal tigers, leopards and Asiatic elephants here. Allot at least 3 hours for a safari here.
    • Tribal Museum - You can learn more about the history of the people of Tamil Nadu and even the Andaman and Nicobar Islands here. There are several collections of artefacts about their culture and traditions in the museum.
    • Pykara River - The Pykara River cascades through several plateaus making it appear like a waterfall. Along the way, you might be also able to spot Toda Huts and dense forests.
Travel back to the hotel, pack your things and you can depart for home just after lunch.
