I am thinking about moving to Bangalore as there seem to be higher prospects there for my business. I would be renting in Bangalore and as it would only be me I require a one bedroom flat.

I would like to know what the cost for a 1bhk for rent in Bangalore would be?

Also what areas of Bangalore should I consider to live in?

Hello, @Talin, welcome to the forum!

    Overview

Bangalore, also known as the Silicon Valley of India, is one of the most modern and vibrant cities of the country. With a number of IT industries, Bangalore has been the hub of many technology-related companies. It is thus inevitable that a sizeable number of working bachelors from the same field have relocated to the city. Over the past few years, real estate has been a booming industry in the city too. Apartments have mostly been the main residential areas that have been on the rise for the recent years, mostly because the IT industry employees are usually single men looking for basic accommodation options. The rates for these apartments, specifically for one-bedroom flats, vary depending on the location or the residential area. Below, we would highlight the best residential areas for bachelors to stay in Bangalore in.

Top 9 Areas in Bangalore for Bachelors + Rental Rates for One-Bedroom Apartments

    Affordable areas for bachelors...

    1. Ulsoor - Ulsoor is located at the central part of Bangalore, close to the Bagmane Tech Park. It is a good residential area for bachelors because it is in proximate distance from various technology hubs and even numerous city attractions like the Bangalore Fort, Bangalore Palace and Vidhana Soudha. Though the locality doesn't have its own grocery stores or entertainment centres, there are many outside of it that you can reach by auto or taxi, even by walking. For example, the Embassy Galaxy Mall in MG Road is merely three kilometres away from the locality. One of the city's largest lakes, the Ulsoor Lake, is also located within the locality which adds a bit of a charm to the residential area. Being one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city, Ulsoor is also home to ancient temples like the Sri Subrahmanya Temple and Someshwara Temple. Travelling in and outside of the locality is quite easy too, as it is connected via Namma Metro through the Halasuru Metro Station and Trinity Metro Station. Even the Trinity Bus Stop is within walking distance from the locality. When it comes to one-bedroom apartment rental rates, they vary but are between Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 16,000 per month. Usually unfurnished and semi-furnished one-bedroom apartments cost between Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 8,000.

Many IT professionals reside in this area so it's possible to find friends or even room mates for you here. The best part about the locality is that there are many grocery stores within it, so you won't need to venture outside just to shop for your basic needs. There are also many entertainment centres close to the locality, like the Kemp Fort Mall, LMG Mall and Cosmos Mall. One of the largest malls in the city, the Phoenix Market City, is around eight kilometres away from the locality also. Even transportation is very accessible from Marathahalli, with the nearest metro station of Indira Nagar and many bus stands around it. The Madivala Lake is located on the northeastern side of the locality as well. IT companies such as Accenture, Oracle, Yash, Honeywell Technology Solutions and many more are located close to the locality too. This is why Bilekahalli is a prime choice for a residential area for bachelors that are in the field of technology in Bangalore. Its proximity to IT companies, as well as its very affordable rates for apartments, enables one to get the most value for their money and time. The locality has its own grocery stores too, like Patanjali Store and Heritage Fresh. For weekend unwinding, you can visit the numerous nearby shopping centres like Gopalan Innovation Mall and Royal Meenakshi Mall. Though it doesn't have its own metro station, you can reach the nearest one which is at Jayaprakash Nagar. Alternatively, you can opt for bus journey instead since Bilekahalli has its own bus stop anyway. Mid-range residential apartment rates can be found in the BTM Layout 2nd Stage, the other one has slightly higher rental rates. BTM Layout is located close to Bilekahalli, just on its northern side, and also shares a part of the Madivala Lake. IT companies like Prime Focus Technologies, Brillio Technologies and Robosoft Technologies are also located close to the locality. Because the locality is home to many IT employees, there are also plenty of coffee shops within it like Cafe Coffee Day, Hearts Unlock Cafe and Kullad Cafe. Not only that, grocery stores are abundant within the locality so there's no need to venture outside for your grocery needs. On the other hand, shopping areas and entertainment centres are a bit sparse, with the nearest one being the Gopalan Innovation Mall. But if you want to venture to cities outside of Bangalore, like Mysore or Hosur, you can easily do so as the locality is almost to the southern city limits. Transportation options are quite many, with both metro and bus availability as well. Usually, cab services like Uber and Ola Cabs can also cater to this part of the city. Rental rates range between Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 18,000 per month for a one-bedroom apartment.

Big malls such as Gopalan Promenade Mall and The Forum are also within walking distance from the locality. You can enjoy the accessibility of grocery stores, shopping centres and other commercial areas though, since they are all located within the locality. Perhaps one downside of the residential area is that it doesn't have its own metro station nor bus station. You need to venture into JP Nagar for transportation options. But if you're not going to depend on public transportation, say you have your own car or you would be taking the cab for the most part, this locality would be a good option for you.
