I will be going to North Goa in November with my boyfriend and rather than staying at the usual hotels and resorts we are considering getting a beach hut. I saw it mentioned in a newspaper article, but there were not many details about the accommodation.

I would like to know what beach huts are, what services and facilities they provide?

Some suggestions of beach huts in North Goa would be great to know the costs as well.

One of one concern I have about the beach huts is that is it safe to stay in them?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

To put it simply, beach huts are cottages made of bamboo or wood, located just adjacent to the shores of the sea. Some beach huts provide just the basic amenities while other beach huts might go beyond and have even the amenities offered by higher-end hotels or resorts.

A basic beach hut has an attached bathroom, electric fan and mattress. A mid-range beach hut might have beds, attached bathroom and even an air-conditioner. A luxury beach hut might have television, bed, private bathroom and air-conditioner. It all depends on what type of beach hut you book or reserve.

Facilities also depend on the owner of the beach huts. Some are family owners who do provide meals for guests. Some are big companies that offer services like room service, housekeeping and others.

Here are some beach huts along the different beaches in North Goa:

I'm sure you can find more beach huts once you're there. Many of these beach hut owners don't have their own website so booking online isn't possible for them. But during off-peak season, it's quite easy to book a beach hut.

It's generally safe to stay in a beach hut. These ones I've posted have 24 hours security personnel within the resort area so you're quite safe. Just make sure that you book a beach hut from a reputable company or owner. Alternatively, you can just stay with friends or families as there's greater security in numbers.

    I hope this helps.:)
