    I have joined the forum to find out which place in Rajasthan is called the City of Lakes? I have read the term City of Lakes many times and now would like to know where it is and what is so special about this place?

    The name City of Lakes is referred to as Udaipur, which is a large city in the state of Rajasthan. Udaipur is called the City of Lakes for the number of lakes it has, which is what makes Udaipur more beautiful other than its forts and palaces. It is definitely a place to visit and just adore.

    The lakes in Udaipur are split into different categories the upper lakes, city lakes, downstream lakes, and rivers.
    • Upper lakes - Lake Badi, Chhota Madar & Bada Madar
    • City lakes - Lake Pichola, Goverdhan Sagar, Swaroop Sagar Lake, Fateh Sagar Lake, Rang Sagar, Kumharia Talab
    • Downstream Lakes - Udaisagar Lake
    • Rivers - Ahar River
