Is it a good idea to rent a car to go sightseeing on your own? Is it too complicated to navigate around India on your own?

In my opinion, you shouldn't rent a car in any country besides your own. Driving rules will be different and you won't be okay to drive in India as some driving laws are different. I just took taxi's places and I used the bus a couple of times. Cheers!

What is the cost of renting a car out there by the day? Does anyone know? I am ok with learning the laws of the road if I have to for driving. I'm not sure I could do the bus thing for very long if I went. I'm thinking that when I plan to go, I will want to find some sort of arrangement to where I already have one rented out in advance so that I won't have to wait or worry about it as soon as I get there to the airport. Any suggestions are helpful. Thank you.
