A group of us are organising a trip from Srinagar to Leh and we would like to take a taxi to Leh. I have tried searching the internet for taxi fares but have not found anything, I have even phoned a taxi company but for some reason they refused to tell me the fare, so I didn't bother making any other phone calls, hence have registered on the forum. I believe that when traveling from Srinagar to Leh you can either make a straight journey or have a night halt at Kargil. I think that is the cost is the same then the night halt option is the best, what do you guys think? If a night halt in Kargil is opted, should we prebook the hotel in Kargil? How long would the journey take from Srinagar to Kargil and then from Kargil to Leh?
What is your budget? I would think renting a car would be cheaper for that duration. I do not know the availability, but think a taxi would be very expensive.
