The one place I definitely want to visit in India is the Taj Mahal. If you have been there, please tell me how long did you spend inside? Is it beautiful and can you take pictures inside?
Taj mahal is one of the most wonderful place in India. I visited taj mahal for 2-3 times and it has been a wonderful experience. I spend around 4-5 hours at Taj Mahal
Thank you Prajesh. I did not know how much time to allot for this visit. I have always seen beautiful pictures of this palace and wanted to see it. I can't wait to take my own pictures and experience it for myself.
With regards to how long of your time you will spend on the Taj Mahal, there are two options. One is the half day tour which is from 10:30 AM - 3 PM. And the whole day tour which is from 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM. The half day tour only tours the Fatehpu Sikri whereas the whole day tour covers the Taj, Agra Fort and Fatehpu Sikri. Picture taking is allowed on monuments. Taking videos is fine but it there is a fee for the video camera.
Does anyone still live in the Taj Mahal? What was it originally built for? I know I can probably just google these things, but it would be cool to hear the background from someone that is a native of India.
When I went pictures were allowed with a fee for taking a camera inside. It is very beautiful, but be careful of beggars and scam artists in general. It's a one time sort of visit in my opinion, but I'd recommend it if you haven't seen it.
