I will be in Goa for the first time with my wife. It is a destination we have wanted to visit since the day we got married but never had a chance to go.
A lot of people go to the different parts of Goa, which makes it even more confusing to know which is the best area to stay in Goa.

We have a two week break, which will be spent in Goa. We need recommendations on the best area to stay in Goa, also explaining why it is the best place in Goa.

We both like a bit fun, relaxation and partying if that helps to provide details of the place to stay in Goa.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Different parts of Goa cater to different types of interests. There are places for partying, there are places for relaxation and there are places for other activities. I'll just list them out for you. Maybe you can visit some of these places since you have two weeks to spare anyway. Here they are:

    Places in Goa for Partying

    1. Baga Beach. You'll find many nightclubs and bars in here. It's probably the most popular place in Goa for partying as well. The famed Tito's Lane or Tito's Road is home to several nightclubs. Consider the following:

    • Club Tito's. This one has been around since the 1970's. The best thing about this club is that it's available all year round. Since you're a couple, you're allowed inside the club (only women and couples are allowed).
    • Cape Town Cafe. This is the most laid-back bar around Tito's Lane. International DJs play in here as well. There's many people here gathering almost everyday. So it's not rare to find guests on the road waiting for their turn to enter the bar.
    • Cafe Mambo. This is an open-air club and they're famous for their themed nights. It is during the weekends that this place is full of guests and tourists.
    • Cavalla. They have different music themes every night, be it a live piano player or a live band.
    2. Anjuna Beach. During the day, you'll find beach shacks all around Anjuna. During night time though, these beach shacks turn into venues for parties. Here's a few you should check out:
    • Curlies. The most well-known party thrower in Anjuna Beach. They hold events as well or themes for each night.
    • Shiva Valley. Another well-known party thrower famous for they Psy Trance ones. It is during Tuesdays that their party events happen.
    • UV Bar. Well-known for their trance and techno parties. International DJs are also known to play here.
    Places in Goa for Relaxation

    1. Visit unknown beaches in Goa.
    • Butterfly Beach. Located in the Northern part of Palolem Beach, you'll have to trek for two hours or take a boat ride to reach the Butterfly Beach. There's not much accommodation in the beach and you'd have to bring your own tent if you'd like to stay overnight here.
    • Galgibaga Beach. About 45 kms from Ragbag, you'll find this secluded beach which is the turtle nesting beach in Goa.
    • Cola Beach. This is about 5 kms from Agonda Beach and has lines of coconut trees around it. There's few accommodations here so make sure to book in advance.
    2. Go for a cruise.
    • The Goa Tourism Development Corporation has several cruises on the Mandovi River daily. You can opt for a sunrise, sunset or evening cruise. Otherwise, you can opt for private cruise companies in the area. This is a perfect activity for couples who just want to relax.
    Places in Goa for Fun

    1. Ponda has a variety of activities for tourists:

    • Visit the Butterfly Conservatory in Rajnagar. You can even feed them fruits and watch how they collect nectar.
    • Explore the Spice Plantations. The Savoi Spice Plantation and the Tropical Spice Plantation are both located in Ponda. You can learn more about the spices and maybe buy a few to take home.
    2. Varca has the dolphin spotting activity.
    • Several agencies arrange for boat rides and if you're lucky, you can spot dolphins in the journey.
    3. Water sports are also widely available in Goa:
    • Windsurfing can be done on Dona Paula Beach although other beaches like Bogmalo, Miramar, Calangute, Arossim, Uttorda, Benaulim, Vagator and Baga are also great places for this.
    • Jet Skiing can be done on a variety of beaches like Benaulim, Aguada, Colva, Candolim, Calangute and Miramar.
    • Scuba Diving can be done on Grande Islands, Pigeon Island, St. George Island, Devagh Island and Netrani Islands.
    • Paddle boarding can be done on Candolim, Mobor and Ragbaga.
    I hope this helps!
