I and a few friends of mine will be going Goa, and we want to go to a few different casinos there. We have heard that to go to a casino in Goa, an entry fee is required.

We would like to know if this is true and if so what the entry fee cost would be. It is not necessary that the exact cost information is given, but some kind of idea would be good to know.

Hello, @Debolina Singh, welcome to the forum!

    Overview

Goa is one of the few regions in India that allow gambling in casinos, the other two being the union territory of Daman and the state of Sikkim. Being the Party Capital of India, Goa has a very vibrant and fun-loving crowd, so inevitably, gambling became a part of the formula. While gambling and casinos in general is a very taboo subject, when done occasionally, it can be a very entertaining form of activity. The first ever casino established in Goa was an offshore one in the Mandovi River, built during the year 1999. Over the years, the number of casinos in the state has increased, which includes both overland and offshore ones. However, casinos in Goa have required entry fees that you need to pay for prior to entering the premises.

Casinos in Goa + Entry Fees (Adults Only)

    1. Deltin Royale - This is undoubtedly Goa's most popular and also the biggest offshore casino. It is also referred to as the Casino Royale and is an undertaking of the Deltin Group, which owns other hotels and offshore casinos in Goa. Deltin Royale though is the Deltin Group's most luxurious offering that is easily accessible from Panjim. It combines gambling entertainment and family leisure all in one, as it has four floors catering to all aspects. The First Floor is the main gaming area, open to all who have paid the regular entry fees. The Second Floor is where the buffet restaurant and live entertainment stage is located. There's a Kid's Zone in the Ground Floor where children can be left under the supervision of a caretaker too. The Open Deck in the Fourth Floor has a bar and entertainment area too. Onto the main gaming area, gaming tables for Poker, Blackjack, Baccarat and more can be enjoyed. Modern slot machines can also be enjoyed by the leisure gamblers.

    2. Deltin Jaqk - Next is the Deltin Jaqk, which is another property owned by the Deltin Group. This is also an offshore casino, located just under three kilometres away from the Deltin Royale. As compared to the former though, this casino vessel is smaller. It might get confusing because the Deltin Jacq was also known as the Casino Royale, so it can be considered as the original Casino Royale. The Deltin Jaqk has three main floors, the Ground Floor is dedicated to the Kid's Zone, the First Floor is the main gaming casino and the Second Floor is where the restaurant plus live entertainment is located. With its posh interiors and welcoming staff, the Deltin Jaqk is another prime choice for gambling in the state. It has slightly lower rates too as compared to the Deltin Royale.

    3. Deltin Caravela - Another offering of the Deltin Group is the Deltin Caravela, a luxury floating hotel slash casino also located in the Mandovi River. This was actually the first ever offshore casino of Goa, formerly known as the Casino Caravela. It was recently renovated and turned into a luxury floating hotel, with just eight suites and a casino on board. This is luxury at its finest, as Suites feature opulent interiors and modern amenities. Have much money to spare? Indulge in their Mansion Suite, a two-floor accommodation option, having its own gaming tables so you can play at your privacy as well. Onto the casino proper, it is fairly smaller than the other casinos but offers the same games such as Poker, Baccarat, Blackjack, Mini Flush and more. Rates for entry here are on the higher side though you can also opt to stay in any of the suites to access the casino.

    4. Casino Pride - Then we have the Casino Pride, which is owned by the Pride Group. This is one of the oldest offshore casinos in Goa and also one of the most affordable ones. Spread over three floors, the Casino Pride has opulent interiors, filled with golden decors and bright lighting. The First Floor is where the main gaming casino is located, where games like Blackjack, Baccarat, Poker, Flush and many more can be found. The Second Floor is where the VIP guests are entertained. The Third Floor is where the restaurant and live entertainment stage is located. Entry fees vary depending on what day of the week it is and whether it's off-peak season or peak season.

    5. Casino Pride 2 - Next is the Casino Pride 2, which is another venture of the Pride Group. This is the smaller of the two Casino Pride vessels. This is the last of the offshore vessels in Goa. With the two Casino Pride vessels, you're only required to pay one entry fee to access them both. Thus, their entry fees are just the same. A small ferry can anchor you from one casino vessel to the other. The Casino Pride 2 is smaller than the other Casino Pride. The crowds here are lesser too so if you want a bit of a serene gambling experience, then this is the place to be. Spread over two floors, the First Floor is the main gaming area, where there are tables for Blackjack, Baccarat and Poker. The Second Floor has the restaurant and kid's playing area, while there's an open deck area too with live performances.

    6. Casino Paradise - Now we go to the land casinos in Goa, starting with the Casino Paradise. This is also owned by the Pride Group, located in their property, which is the Hotel Neo Majestic. It is located specifically in Porvorim in Panjim, on the other side of the Mandovi River, quite further from the location of the offshore vessels. The Casino Paradise is just a small casino, especially as compared to the offshore casinos of the Pride Group. There are the usual games like Poker, Blackjack and Baccarat in the casino. Slot machines are also available for the use of guests. Even for non-staying guests, they can access the casino by paying the required entry fees. The interiors of the gaming casino is very simple, with just wooden flooring and white-washed ceilings.

    7. Casino Palms - The last land casino owned by the Pride Group in Goa is the Casino Palms. It is located at the Hotel La Calypso, which is at the Baga Calangute Road, just a short distance from the Baga Beach and Calangute Beach. Again, this is just a small casino spread in just one floor, with around six electronic gaming tables for Baccarat, Poker, American Roulette and Mini Flush. Slot machines are also available in the casino though they are just few. The entry fees here also included unlimited buffet plus drinks or snacks on the gaming tables. The casino has wooden flooring with white-washed walls so the interiors aren't as lavish.

    8. Casino Carnival - The Casino Carnival is located in the Goa Marriott Resort and Spa, an upscale property in Panjim. The land casino is located close to the banks of the Mandovi River. Initially, there were two Casino Carnivals, one was located offshore and the other onshore. However, the offshore Casino Carnival was sold to the Pride Group and was renamed the Casino Pride. As of now, the Goa Marriott Resort and Spa only owns one casino, the onshore Casino Carnival. Spread across a huge hall in the hotel, there are electronic gaming tables for Baccarat, American Roulette and Blackjack. There are also slot machines that guests can use. The contemporary design of the casino would be a sure hit to the modern tourists. The carpeted flooring and bright lights are sure to lure the gamblers.

    9. Casino Dunes - Next is the Casino Dunes, located in the Zuri White Sands Resort & Spa. Specifically, you can find both the resort and casino at Salcette, close to the Varca Beach. Only electronic gaming tables can be found in the casino, though there are four dedicated tables just for American Roulette. The casino has very simple interiors and just occupies a small hall across the entrance. The dealers and staff are very warm and inviting but if you want an extensive gambling experience, this might not be the best place for you. For beginners though, this is a great choice as it can let you experience gambling in a more laid-back atmosphere.

    10. Casino Goa Nugget - Then, next is the Casino Goa Nugget, located in the Caravela Beach Resort, also located in Salcette, near the Varca Beach. Much like the other land casinos, the Casino Goa Nugget is just small and only has electronic gaming tables for games like Blackjack, Baccarat and Mini Flush. There are some slot machines too that guests can utilise. The entry fees here are just the same as the other land casinos, which include just the taxes imposed upon by the government. Don't worry as they also include unlimited snacks and drinks for the gamers.

    11. Casino Strike - Next on the list is the Casino Strike, which is located on the Grand Hyatt in Bambolim. This is the largest onshore casino, not just in Goa, but in the country. Spread over three floors, Casino Strike offers the ultimate land-based gambling experience in Goa. The First Floor is where the restaurant is located, but it also has a few gaming tables that one can enjoy. There are also some VIP Rooms in the Second Floor. The Third Floor is where most of the electronic gaming tables and slot machines are located. The interiors are very lavish and bright, but also modern. The main games that one can enjoy here are Baccarat, Blackjack, Poker and Casino War. There are also a few slot machines though the payout for these games are very low.

    12. Casino Chances - The Casino Chances is located in the Vainguinim Valley Resort in Dona Paula. It is sometimes referred to as The Chances Resort and Casino. Did you know that this is one of the oldest casinos in Goa? Yes, this casino was established shortly after the Casino Caravela. If you want to enjoy the old-style of gambling, it is here that you can do that, as the casino still has the traditional coin slot machines. Most of the gaming tables have American Roulette or Blackjack only. This is the also the only casino in Goa which still has the traditional Royal Ascot Horse Racing Game. The best feature of this casino is that the rates for betting are cheaper so for beginner gamblers, they can practice more easily here.

    Conclusion

So these are some of the best casinos in Goa with entry fees listed in their websites or other platforms. As you can see, the rates for offshore casinos like Deltin Royale, Deltin Jaqk, Deltin Caravela, Casino Pride and Casino Pride 2 are higher. Entry fees for offshore casinos in Goa range from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 4,000 per head. These rates already include OTP chips, unlimited buffet, snacks and drinks. The rates for onshore casinos are usually lower at around Rs. 1,000, which includes unlimited snacks and drinks already. There are some exceptions though, like the Deltin Caravela and Casino Strike that have higher entry fees than the usual.

    I hope this helps you!:)
