Film City Mumbai entry fee

I am going to Nasik from Delhi and I will be getting a flight from Delhi to Mumbai and then a taxi to Nasik. My stay in Nasik will be for a few days then I will be back. I would like to be in Mumbai for some time and visit the Film City.

What is the Film City?

Mumbai's Film City was established in 1977 by the Department of Cultural Affairs Government of Maharashtra. It has helped the local film industry, especially Bollywoood, as it is an all-in-one studio complex comprising of various sets that can be utilised by film makers or television series makers. Film City is also known as the Dadasaheb Phalke Nagar, as it is a form of tribute to the late Dadasaheb Phalke, the Father of Indian Cinema. In the past, only crews and actors were allowed inside the studio complex which made it a bit of an elusive dream for many film lovers. In 2014, the Film City was opened for tourism, wherein both local and foreign avid Bollywood fans can enjoy a guided tour of the entire film complex.

Where is the Film City Located?

The Film City is located in Goregaon East in Mumbai. It is situated just at the southwestern side of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. It is approachable through the Film City Road itself. The Vihar Lake is merely 2.3 kilometres away from the film complex. The nearest railway station is the Goregaon Railway Station, which is about six kilometres away from Film City. Nearby hotels to the Film City are the Shree Ganesh Hotel, Palms Hotel & Convention Centre and The Westin Hotel. To the northwestern side of the Film City, there are many restaurants that one can choose from, like Kareem's, Pallavi and Pratha.
