    Hello,

I understand that it is Dashain Festival time in Nepal. Is it celebrated in Sikkim, too? I'm planning on arriving to Sikkim next week (i.e., 11-21.10.2106).
Are there any limitations cocncering it? Places closed? Problems in Darjeeling with having a permit to visit Sikkim?

    Thanks!

It is Dusshera on the 11th in India but as far as I know it is not big in Sikkim, its a Hindu festival where we burn an effigy of "Ravana" and it is a public holiday but shops and restaurants open throughout the day and some close in the evening for the celebrations thats all. It is a 4-5 hours affair and it will come and go :)

The same day they have Dashain festival in Nepal if I am not wrong and it is more or less related if not the same thing. Sorry I am not very religious so don't know a lot.
